Not quite my first grow, done a couple HPS runs on a smaller scale than this in coco and well as the one I've just concluded using no name cob filters in a 4x4 tent. Finally all that overtime paid off and I'm purchasing a condo, which means I have a little bit more space and a couple less annoying people to deal with than I do now in my rental.

Part of the reason that I bought the condo is that is has a 1000sq/ft insulated attic which I will eventually make into my production room. Obviously, having never worked on a scale like that before, I'm going to do a couple runs in a spare bedroom first. Did just snag a couple of the HLG fixtures during the labor day sale, going to be up and running the first week of October. Just saving the space for anyone who knows better than I do to correct me before I make some awful mistake.

This is the current plan, although all I have purchased thus far is the lighting fixtures, so open to suggestions on everything else;


Space: Secret Jardin Wide Darkroom 2.5 (118"x59"x 92")

Lighting: 2 HLG-550 quantum board fixtures, pulling ~515 each from the wall. Each of these will be over a 4x4 tray, which will leave me with a little breathing room around the sides in a 5x10 foot secret jardin, that will eventually become my veg area for the attic. The form factor of these fixtures is INSANE. so thin.



Medium: Coco in airpots with drip DTW. Either blumats or halos on a pump. due to plant count restrictions I'm going to be doing 12 plants at a time, each in ~3 gallon airpots. not sure if I'm going to stick them up a little bit on top of a drain rez, or just manually remove the runoff from the trays with a shop vac like I was doing when I hand watered. After the pheno hunt I'm sure I'll be trying to scrog for production, but just looking for a good mom right at the moment.

Genetics: Really open to suggestions here, but probably some dinafem critical 2.0 and relentless white pie. There is also a breeder local to me in MA with baystateseeds that has some interesting heirloom sativa genetics he sells. Might pick up a pack or two and see what happens.

Environment: Probably a 8" vortex exhaust, 6" intake fan. Exhaust would be spitting out a window, with the intake air coming from the lung of the spare bedroom. Never ran a sealed room before and hoping I won't need much a/c at all to cool these fixtures (one of the big selling points for me over COBs) but if anything I'll just pick up a 10k BTU window unit and call it a day. A big ass mini-split is in my future for the attic, I'm sure.

Any and all thoughts/comments/concerns welcome, although I don't expect much activity until the future ladies are throwing glitter out.

What ever happened with this thread? Looking to run 2 hlg fixtures in a 4x8 tent so very interested in any info!
