Sorry to say, it looks like the CBDB is a no-go. After 24 hrs in water a few seeds cracked so they went into paper towels again but never grew tails. Opened them up and one had turned to mush, the others are just stalled. I'll see what happens but I don't think they'll be doing anything.
The one I put in dirt still hasn't come up. The seeds that still haven't popped were taken out a few days ago and being dried again. I'm gonna make another attempt with them starting from scratch. Last time I did something like this was about 7 years ago with DJ's blueberry. Same situation. I took them out and let them dry for a couple weeks and then tried again. They popped quickly and grew normally so with a little luck I still may get these above ground.

Hey everyone!
I've got all these sssdh x snowman in the flower room. 3 males and 2 females. Males just got cut down to collect pollen. Here's a group shot. Male #1 - Little bit of berry and rubber on the stem rub Male #2 - Stem rub is giving off heavy rubber tires/skunky with a little berry. Gotta be a lot of digiberry in this one.. Just look at those saw tooth double serrations all up and down the leaf! Male #3 - This one has a sweet grapey smell, a lot like the grom line I grew out a while back. I'll be collecting pollen from each of them separately for the f2's and a little for the freezer. Whatcha think? I'm really liking #2 a lot. He's going back into the veg room and at the very least I'll be taking another round of pollen from him. Pics of the girls coming up next.. |

Those pics were from almost a week ago. Here's a couple more of Male #2 from this morning, just starting to drop pollen.
He did have one thing I'm not sure if it's a positive or a negative. There was a single pitsol and a single nanner. I've heard mixed opinions on this, but some people say this could actually be a good thing. Either way it won't stop me from using him a lot this run. I've got a gromberry glue just going into flower that will get some love from him and also the grape smelling one. Also glue, blue dream, lucy, sfv, orange kush, sister. EDIT - One more of him all chopped and ready to drop! |

That #2 is a nice looking male for sure! Not sure who or what he resembles more, but that smell profile sounds very promising! The very first picture the lower leaves on him remind me a tad bit of OJD cut of SSSDH, but that fades quickly as he matured. If he stinks and he's tacky to the touch, no harm in seeing what he can do. Looks as if the balls were starting to get a bit of color to them, or is that just shadowing?
Really looking forward to seeing what your two ladies do! Thanks for giving these a go. dank.Frank

Frank I think it's just shadowing.
Hey Heady! I just put my first gromberry glue into the flower room. She'll be part of the show here soon also ![]() Here's a side by side of the females. sssdh x snowman female #1 - Stem rub is a lot like male #2, rubbery/skunky/berry. The runt of the litter! Frank, any chance this could be sour bubble influence? Or is there something else indica in there? sssdh x snowman female #2 - stem rub is nice and skunky. |

Purple Indica, the mother of GROM.
These look all mixed up. Going to be some interesting phenos. These lines were merely meant to capitalize on the male. No one specific ideal to be achieved. Just good flowers. That aside, I look at these leaves and I still see SSSDH coming through in early leaf sets, but disappearing a bit more as they mature. GROM had VERY long petioles, in thinking about it. Oddly long. They smelt very much like white grape juice and grape baby aspirin even on a stem rub. Maybe something along those lines will stand out. The reason I keep making the SSSDH comment - and mind you, not all of them look the same, but when I think of the "ideal" examples of think of cuts like Shire or the multiple cup winning OJD cut. This is a leaf off the OJD cut, and you'll see the similarity I'm seeing. This is Arnold. Chili's Sour Bubble Bx2 male used in the original outcross. ![]() ![]() This is the Digi Bx1 male that was actually used in the cross, ie Sawtooth male: And here is GROM: Now putting all these together, you see GROM influenced heavily by Sour Bubble and hints of SSSDH in the mix. All your plants just show heavy hybridization. It'll be interesting to see them flowered out. Expect to be surprised! dank.Frank
