dynalene

Anyone have any experience with this? I need to run something besides ice water through my heat exchangers and saw this as an alternative to glycol.

what kind of HE? how man gal per hour is it rated...It really all depends on what your trying to cool... and how cold and how long your trying to keep it that cold .... The only reason you would want to use the lene is if you had a chiller for that H.E that you wanted to get down below freezing in the negative...Its expensive shit how i was using it and i wasnt getting low enough for it to even work...i was just sick of adding the godam salt to keep it from freezing.....Dynalene is just a branding its a dupont invention...If you really wanna know go to Old gold and rickys bong(03-14-2017,01:44 AM)discussion they know there shit...

I'm using it in my polyscience 6160T, I run it at 0C or a little below and it works fine.

I used 4.5L of HC50, then topped up the rest with distilled water.

The HE is this one- https://bhogart.com/product/heat-exchanger-2/
from bhogart. I'm currently running ice water out of a freezer with a submersible pump.

What's the ratio of HC50 to water? Does it have to be distilled? Will a basic submersible pump work? Thx

I use distilled water because the minerals in tap water can form mineral deposits and crust on the heating/cooling elements and reduce its ability to heat or cool.

I don't know the ratio, I used a gallon of dynalene, and then added distilled water until the reservoir was topped off and the pipes were full.

It was maybe 3/4 of a gallon of distilled water. I don't know the capacity of the reservoir.

I could've just used water though as I don't have to go below 0C, and moving water won't freeze.

how are you using it? Are you using it to chill LPG before injection or to help recover? I see a few 6160T online; can you tell me which one you have?Thx

I'm using mine for a rotary evaporator and massive condenser coils.

I'm not sure if the 6160 is capable of chilling as low as you need for LPG though. I'd have to check the specs but I think it only goes down to -10 or -20C

6160T is the exact model I have, it's part of the 6100 series and it's a fucking beast of a machine.
200Lb shipping weight, and runs on 220V so make sure you have a dedicated 220V plug installed for it. it uses the sideways blade style of plug.
