Has anyone grown grapefruit outdoors?

Basically I'm looking for potent sativa's that finish relatively early in my climate in the Midwest at 42°N. I have read some really good reviews with Female Seeds Grapefruit being a early sativa that actually has good potency. I have read mixed reviews about how well it does outdoors but honestly I'm willing to fight mold for something potent. Has anyone grown grapefruit in or outdoors?

Here are my purple marocs I grew this year, they were already showing white hairs before I transplanted them into the ground. I'm impressed with their hardiness but worried about potency. I got a sativa and indica pheno.

I'm really hoping to hear from someone who has grown grapefruit or other potent early sativa's.

OvergrowDaWorld is growing their outdoor Grapefruit. Check out the Massachusetts outdoor thread.

Hi Boogieman,

Glad to hear that you are interested in the Grapefruit, lovely choice.
Look, to be honest with you I rather suggest to take the Outdoor Grapefruit. As the name says it is perfect for outdoor and it is ready in 7-9 weeks of flowering.
But because of the fact that you live at 42 N I believe that also the normal Grapefruit can work well, always if the weather is kind of acceptable of course. The flowering period is more or less the same of the Outdoor Grapefruit too.
The best anti-mould strains are Red Purps, Purple Maroc and Easy Sativa too but the Outdoor Grapefruit can be definitely included in these group too

Hope I have been of some help,

All the best,
Mr B.

I have grown Easy Sativa multiple times. That is my go to strain for outdoor guerrilla growing. If you are worried about mold I would highly recommend Easy Sativa. Some strains finish mid September and the latest will be done by End of September. Our September months can sometimes have a week or so of rain at a time and I can say I have never had mold issues besides just a spot here or there.

My main concern is potency, i grow for myself and im willing to fight mold to get good smoke. I have read many reviews on easy sativa and potency is a concern. I plan to try bangi haze from ace seeds and im still looking at C99 and grapefruit to try this year.
