Ive acquired a qp of schwag and I want to make a concentrated tincture out of it. I grounded an oz in coffee grinder and put in a jar with everclear. I plan to let it soak for 6-7 hours then strain through a cheesecloth and evap most of the ethanol at low heat on the oven. Should I evap all the alcohol and scrape it into a ball and eat it or should i make a liquid? How long should I soak the weed? I don't want it to contain alot of chloyrphyl and other nasty shit but I want it to be potent enough.

would it be best to scrape into a ball of goo after letting all the alcohol evaporate and making a peanut butter cracker or just drinking the liquid?

I have some very powerfull green dragon that was made with everclear.

It burns like hell under the tongue and tastes like cough syrup but it kicks in faster than just drinking it mixed with something.

Unless you really have a problem with the taste I say just keep it under your tongue as long as you can stand then take a drink of something. Repeat as necessary

Hey DC. I'll relate my experiences making tincture.
First off, I use Everclear. When I do make it, I try to make it using good bud whenever possible. After all. It is goin in the mouth
But I understand you're tryin to use the discount bale o buds.

For a while I've been doing it by soaking the weed for a long time(days), but I found that it WILL definintely put a lot of the nasties in(like chlorophyl) that you don't want.
So lately, I've been shaking for only about 5 minutes, and then filtering. If you're using grain alcohol that'll be long enough to dissolve the THC. After all, the folks that swear by ISO extractions claim it comes out best with a quick rinse (qwiso), for the same reason. Less icky stuff.
If it were me, I'd say evaporate 75-90% of the alcohol, but keep it still fluid. I think the ball o goo might be really horrible, and might just kill ya
ok, maybe not... just my cook's opinion that it's easier to consume in liquid form.
As far as the sub-lingual method. I've done it(and stll keep some in a glass dropper bottle), it works, but it's pretty much like having a mouth full of jet fuel. *cough* So a quick chaser is in order.
What I typically do is put a does of tincture into a shot glass...we're talkin quarter shot max, and pour in something with a strong taste like orange or cranberry juice, and just down it. The funny thing is, this stuff is so loaded with trichs, that it doesn't really seem to mix well with cold liquids. It kinda bubbles for a second, and then stratifies into 2 layers . So again, just down it. And you'll STILL need that chaser. no matter how clean I try to make it, it still tastes pretty bad
Doesn't stop me from ingesting it

Eh ahum …

Cooked cook was quicker and it seems to be he’s a good cook. Stick to his advice and you’ll get a nice THCextraction.

any suggestions on how to evaporate the everclear/weeed solution?

somebody asked if this shall be done in an oven but everclear is extremely flammable so i doubt this is the safest way....

will letting it sit in an open jar for a few days in room temperature do the trick or do you guys have some other method?


secondly, is there any recommended ratio of buds (trim) to everclear? throwing too little will not make a potent solution and throwing too much will constitute a sheer waste of weed material?
