Hobby Closet Breeder (Chucker) Seeks Big Buds
Hi All,
I have a few clones/mothers in the old closet, and I'd like to try breeding some bigger buds into 'em. I've been inspired by an older thread that popped up recently about people growing Heath Robinson strains. There are some pictures in that thread of, I think, AK and NL buds the size of a goddamn battleship. I've searched the old threads for answers, but have only come up with threads that are 3+ years old, and we all know that quite a bit can change in 3+ years, so I'm asking you ic'ers to help point me in the direction of some reg seeds that reliably produce big yielders. First, let me be clear: this project is not for science, or for preservation (everything I have is widely available). The space is too small for large populations, so selections will be made from 2 packs MAX. I don't care about genetic bottlenecking, as these seeds will never hit the market, it's just a pastime for me. And even though potency is generally important, it's not my primary criteria (criterion?). I'm really only interested in seeing if I can cross AxB and get something like A but with bigger buds, then start cubing or whatever. THIS IS NOT SERIOUS STUFF, IT'S JUST FOR FUN. It used to be, the standard big yielders were AK, WW, and NL, although I'm sure I'm missing a couple. I like the looks of the descriptions of said strains by Dr Atomic and Beanhoarder, but haven't pulled the trigger yet. The price is certainly right, though... Anyway, what are you peoples liking for big (indoor) yielders, potent or not, available in reg seed form? |

I thought Purple Trainwreck from Humboldt Seed Co. had some nice bud structures. (big)
It sometimes naturally grows with 8 main buds, similar to the Jilly Bean and other plants people showed in the Mainlining thread (which I can't find right now). It's a thread about topping, FIM'ing, mainlining, and other ways of pruning plants to get good buds. Hazeman Seeds Elephant Stomper - got one male now. Was thinking about letting him go to seed

Hi, GMT. OK, I'll bite! What's up with your GMT III?
Hi, St. P. Do you mean Humboldt Seed Organisation? I've had their Green Crack fem, and it's tremendous, some very good phenos in there. Fine then, I'll take a look at that Purple Trainwreck. Yep, my outdoor Jilly (years ago) made some big ones, for sure. Hmmm, Elephant Stomper sounds right up my alley. I'll take a look. Thanks! |

Hehe, I've got it listed at the mo with seedbay. Decent indica, not a party weed. One pack would be enough though. The threads here call it bruisednuts.
Not the normal, ie. no skunk or kush cross. Just being cheeky and hyping the strain that took 15 years to develop rather than the commercial strains that people put out after 6 months. Oh and its a one off release, no restocks.

Welly welly welly. I will surely look into that. Never been to seedbay before.
Bruisednuts lol. Feel free to be as cheeky as you wanna be! I'm interested in any and all available seeds that might do the trick. And having something *special* doesn't hurt, either. I've gone back and checked out that bruised nutes thread, and wowee zowee, that looks nice. Btw, I've looked at seedbay and I don't see em...? Sorry, maybe I'm just not using the site correctly... |

MNS critical mass or black widow - CM for huge buds, or BW for recessiveness

Thanks, best. I'm looking into that BW this very minute. And CM is a good call.

They are well tested but I hid them in the untested section as i m not a commercial breeder and don't want to be listed as such.

I'd message you direct if I had enough posts...I don't want to get there by spamming everybody's threads, though. Soon come...
I just don't see 'em there, you must have sold them all! Having looked at a couple of your threads, that's no surprise. I'll just have to keep an eye on the bay I guess. Anyway, it's a pleasure to have you here, and I'll be watching threads for that GMT handle when I want to know the real deal.
