Question Bogs soil mix

Bog, wallmart does not cary sam's choice and has changed over to what is called Perfect soil mix. which says on the label that it has additional nutes added to the soil. has this altered the way you mix your soil for growing?

I have tried perfect mix before and found it to be to strong for seedlings than i swiched to pro mix seed starting from home depot. After three weeks in nutrient free soil i use promix and some fox farms soil mixed at 50 /50 rate. I looked for the soil bog said to use but it doesnt come in stock where i live.

Hey guys,

Yea they took Sams choice off the shelfs. I have tried the perfect mix and it is really fine, by that I mean small particles that compact easily. I really didn`t care for it to much but I'm sure Bog will put it through it`s paces.

I went to a brand that Lowes carries STA-GREEN. It seems to do very well for me. Plus they stock it year round where I found that in my area Wal-Mart cuts back on soil when it is out of season, but I live in the boonies. It is not 100% organic but works ok for me. Most of them aren't 100% organic anyway. Well that's my 2 cents worth, hope it helps.

Wink heres is a little tip

sams choice was very airy and fluffy thats why the roots would do well so what I do is go oto a local nursery and get the organic soil and then add seedling soil to it because it adds the real nice airy feeling to the dirt. for flower you can still add the bone meal and bloodmeal. yummy My buds taste extra good because of all the love put into it. And because im fucking nuts.

I use Sta- green soil from lowes . Excelent for organics. Best soil I've ever used. I've also used it for chemical ferts with good results

Okie grown will become famous soon enough
Most home deopots have promix

I have switched from sams c to promix.I have done 2 or 3 grows with it and the plants seem to love it.It has peat perlite and vermiculite (no ferts.).Also it has lime already in it.Thats why i switched from the sams c it has the osmacoate chem. fert mixed in it.I suggest not using any mix that is called a feeding mix.I found these (feeding mix) soils always use a time release chem. nute of some kind.Shultz feeding mix has multicoate. If you want to grow organic than these mixes realy defeat the perpuse. If you use chem. nutes anyway than thay will work fine.If you want to go organic than try promix or blackgold ect.. Im sure there are a few .Just read what it has in it.I make sure there are no nutes of any kind.I like to mix my own in.
