I planted her in late April, vegged her from early May until late July. Then kept indoors at night. Harvested Sept 13 @ 7+ weeks flowering, did not need more. I was surprised by how fast she went almost completely milky. Maybe the sunny summer without rain sped things up a bit? She's still curing. Maybe will post a smoke report... |

ICE report
Germination: April 28, 100% germination rate. Veg: May 14 to late July Flowering: Late July to middle of September. Flowering was triggered by switching on July 28 from 24-hours outdoors to an indoor light-tight room for 12.5 hours at night. ICE was already very mature at that point, having vegged since early May. I saw first pistils on ICE on August 8, but amazingly harvested Sept 13-14 (5 weeks later) with about 80% milky trichs. Given the Female Seeds "flowering period" of 8 or 9 weeks, I am not sure if this result can be duplicated. Growth: ICE showed vigorous vegetative growth. Very deep green color, tough-textured leaves having the feel of pineapple sage, broader indica-looking leaves. Adjusted quickly to topping, LST, tying. Supercropping was super easy, the branches in pre-flower were like wire and easy to bend and form during veg. One ICE plant did react adversely to my N-rich organic soil (contained chicken manure pellets), and started clawing. I flushed and added soil with less N and the problem was solved. Buds: Large, leafy buds, full of resin, absolutely coated with trichs. The harvest and manicure was made easy by the stem structure, with most of the leaves quickly removed. Fairly thick buds, required more time to dry than strains with finer thinner leafcoat. So sticky my hands and scissors needed serious cleaning! Yield: About 100 grams per plant. Odor: Strong, full-bodied aroma. No fruit or citrous smell, just indica. Effect: Calming, relaxing body high, clear head. I've only vaped her so far, but even with the vaporizor got quite high (unusually high for vaping). Strong stuff! Definitely good for what ails ya. ![]() Here's a photo of her when she just started flowering and the last photo of her buds before chop. |

Nice report Emeraldo,
Do you have more pics of the whole plant. I am About 5 weeks away from chopping down my ICE ladies... did you notice a lot of variation between plants? Not sure how many you said you grew. I have a couple phenos that are a lot more short and bushy - looking forward to see the end results from my ICE plants. Also have a few Skunk Specials, a WWx BB and a C-99. Starting to ramble. Either way. Looking good.

To your question on phenos. Yes, I did notice variation between the two plants. The one I killed was larger with more branching and somewhat wider leaves than the one I kept through harvest. So I kept the more manageable plant. But both plants had tough thick-feeling leaves and branches that lent themselves really well to supercropping and LST. Both were also topped and they recovered from that quickly. This plant is not your guerilla grow, it needs some attention. I had to get rid of aphids early on, and this strain does not like too much fertilizer, give it too much N and it will slow and even claw -- my experience. Actually, I was thinking ICE would need to flower into October, which was going to create some logistical problems for me, so I let the smaller one flower until it was really ripe, 80% trichs were milky. Surprizingly for me, my ICE was that ripe on September 13. So as far as I know, the plant had a good long veg period from mid-May until mid-July. If flowering was triggered by the shortening of the days in mid-July, then she got about 8 weeks of flowering. One thing I learned this year is: Don't rely on the breeder's advertised "flowering period" (e.g., "7 weeks" or "8-9 weeks" flowering) because that is nothing more than a guideline. So you think you have 5 weeks left, but how do you know that? I guess the "flowering period" info is more accurate for indoor grows, where you can control when "flowering period" starts by flipping the light switch. Outdoors you can't control it. But you can rely on the trichs. For an outdoor grow like mine (during flowering I bring the plants into a light-tight room for 12.5 hours each night), the only thing I can really rely on is how the trichs are doing. When you have 50% milky trichs it is time to get ready. You can let her go to 80% or 90% if you like. This weed is pretty strong stuff, very calming, relaxing, "medicinal". Chopping at 80% made some very fine weed. Here the two ICE sisters side by side in early July: Last edited by Emeraldo; 09-30-2017 at 10:33 AM.. |

Interesting indeed, isn't it? Our breeder created it and even brought it to the Cannabis Cup of 1998 and the strain did not win awards but was registered as one of the strains with the highest THC. That was quite some time ago but still a great strain, lovely smoke and strong high
![]() Many people thought the same and this is all due to the fact that we are quite low-profile on many aspects. We normally don't do that much advertising or publicity around, as you may realised already ![]() Anyway, thanks for the kind words, much appreciated! All the best, Mr B. Quote:

Bulking up very nice s2, really like what you are doing with this strain.
I wanted to ask about those ICE with the purple tinge. Are you noticing any difference or different behaviour when compared to the not coloured ICE? I am really curious to know if there is any relevant element that stands out ![]() Take care and keep up the good work! Mr B. Quote:
