Yep, kalapana is today's flight. My buddy and his neighbors were circled, hovered over, then flew off.
Orange copter, not search and rescue for sure. No ground troops, just one copter we assume taking pics.

Flying upper Puna and Hilo too, landed in my buddys yard about half a mile away and cut his plants.

They're flying Orchidland/hpp right now. I can hear them circling, but not see them.

They flew Ocean View all day today. There was 2 helicopters flying low nd circleing around all day. One had a dome with a camera on the side I got a pic I posted here https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread....326485&page=21

Saw green harvest just fly out of Kona headed south. 2 helicopters again the black and yellow. They should be there soon.

There's at least 6 flying put of Hilo towards hamakua today.
At least 2 are military, and one appeared to have the FLIR attached.

They don't usually fly weekends. In the past they seem to only spend one week per Island.
