Hi all... anyone have experience with these? I had one fail on me last month. It seems like the time just froze and it left the lights on for two days. Didn't realize it happened until I poked my head in during what was supposed to be NIGHT and the lights were on. And yes, I know that it has to be on the status screen to function. It worked fine for 7 months and I really thought it was awesome. I bought it on Amazon.com from a retailer named Healthy Harvest, and it has been 12 days since I filed for a return and they are telling me Hydrofarm is not responding to their request for RMA and I MUST go through them because they are the Authorized Retailer. I bought another one from a different retailer already, but I'm wondering if I should just abandon the idea that someone will build a digital controller for these lights that is RELIABLE.

I think healthy harvest is located in south florida. You location says socal. You can't live that far away from a local grow shop. With anything that involves electronics, it's sometimes best to pay a little more from the brick and mortar store and deal with them face to face when you have problems. Hydrofarm does honor their warranty, so let them know for sure. Good luck.

Im also having problems with the controller in which I have contacted Hydrofarm through an authorized retailer to no avail. The wattage setting on the controller does not function at all. It sits at 1000w no matter what setting you have it on the controller. The ability to set wattage was a big selling point for me. Never again.

If you want a custom lighting controller that will control any E-Ballasts like Gavita or any other similar ballast that allows external control, send an email to info@TotalHorticultureControl. com. They use SIEMENS PLCs that will do the exact same thing as these digital lighting controllers, the technology for dimming is OTS. The PLC can be programmed with many options, even lower light levels and temperature while watering.
