I need opinions on this fertilizer, please?

Hey guys,

I've got some clones I was given and it's been a while since I've grown so I'm a bit hazy about everything. I do remember this site being super helpful so what up dudes.

So I've got these two Girl Scout Cookie clones. Idk how to upload on my phone so they'll be up shortly. And I've got a Durban Poison and some unnamed sativa that takes about 16 weeks to flower.

I bought these two local fertilizers out here in Hawaii and wanted to know what anyone thought for a simple feeding recipe using the two and if there's anything else you'd suggest. I'll also be using molasses, but no plans to use any other ferts. Again, pictures up in a sec. Literally haha

The bloodmeal is pretty obvious where the source of the nutrients come from and is listed as 13-0-0.

The other, I'm not too sure what the source is. It's just perlite looking rocks with not much info besides what elements are in there. This is listed as 10-20-20.

If anyone can help me out on the best way you think I should use these, I'd be super stoked! I tried just using a super small amount of the bloodmeal on top of the soil but it minor burned a couple. Sativa took it well though.

Thanks for any help!!!!

Actually it's not that bad. I like the 10-20-20.

This is what you do. You didn't say what soil or even medium you're using. In fact there isn't a lot of info in your post.

To repot, take soil, mix 1/4 strength of the 10-20-20 and walk away. That should stimulate root growth and stem growth. Once there is a large root system on your plants, you can use the bloodmeal for a short time to veg. Then return to the 10-20-20 when the pre-flowers start to show.

When the flowers are large but fluffy, use something that has potassium in it, and trace elements. Seaweed and/or molasses, plus a high K wood ash.

Also, you should get some new clones, because these are a mildewy, potassium starved mess that are beyond redemption. Also the pots need to be thrown away or cleaned with bleach. I don't know what soil they're in, however you should avoid miracle grow or anything that has slow release fertilizers. Fox Farm seems to be a favorite, however you can also buy Canna, Plagron, Biobizz, etc.

The key is to have a light soil that roots can easily penetrate, and from which they can exchange gases like O2 and CO2, which increases their metabolism and therefore their growth rate. To grow, the roots need Phosphorus. Potassium helps to build strong stems and branches (which the plant needs to do throughout all it's growth phases), increase health and ripen fruits/flowers. It is only during it's vegetative phase when the plant is growing a lot of leaves that the plant needs extra nitrogen. Most growers overestimate the need for nitrogen, which also can burn the roots like magnesium.

Personally I think plants get a lot of their nitrogen through the air, which is 80% NO3, just like they get their carbon from the air by taking in CO2 and getting rid of the O2. However that is dependent on whether their roots can grow into the aerated parts of the soil without drying out, which is why mulch is so important, because of keeps the very top of the soil available for plant roots, which increases contact with the air.

Plants have several kinds of roots. The pen root, the feeder roots, air roots, stabilizers, and the crown. The pen root stabilizes the plan vertically, and grows right into the water table. It can remain in water through the duration of the grow. The feeder roots take in nutrients from the slightly compacted soil. The air roots exchange gases with the air, and die if they are submerged for more than 10 minutes. The existence of these separate root systems make perfect sense in a layered soil outdoors (top soil, sub soil, water table, bed rock). However people grow plants in a single layer of medium, which is why we get in trouble.
