Week 5 veg

They got nutrients once this week and I did increase the dose to one third recommended and they still look very green and happy. Every couple days I have to adjust fan leaves and shoots to maximize light.

These individual shots were taken Friday
BB1

BB2

This picture is of both and taken a few hours ago.

I've been having quite the debate in my own head this week about whether to switch to flowering now or giving BB1 a chance to gain some height. I will most likely clean up some growth and fan leaves then switch over to 12/12 within the next few days.

Flowering Day 1

Yesterday, I cleaned up most vegetation below the shoots I'm trying to encourage to become colas. I'm not sure if these are two different phenotypes, that's what I am assuming, considering their size and shape differences. Interested to see how the stretch affects the two. I replaced the MH bulb with the HPS and today is their first day of 12/12.

BB1

Besides the 4 main shoots there seems to be a few other viable shoots in the middle of the plant.

BB2

Removed anything that I did not want the plant spending energy on. LST to even out canopy.

The two blueberries are in the back. The plant in the front is unrelated to the contest, although a freebie from a previous Seedsman order. Both girls excite me. 2 very different looks/structures and to my pretty amateur eyes, show a lot of potential. Once BB1 stretches more I will add a tomato cage to it.

Flowering Day 6

BB1

There is quite a bit of difference between these two. This one is shorter and drinks significantly less water than BB2 but still seems to be getting bigger and maintaining a healthy green color to the leaves.

BB2

She shot up about 4 or five inches in 24 hours. I have been able to attach the shoots to the flower cage, in hopes of being able to move them around as necessary throughout flowering.

Overall they received nutrients once this week, still at half of recommended dose. No molasses this week. I plan on cutting back/eliminating veg nutes this coming week and begin a light introduction to some flowering nutes. We had a bit of a temperature spike in the region and I really into some heat issues but caught it quickly and was able to reduce the temps from 85 to 78 degrees. No noticeable affect to the girls yet so I believe I caught the problem in time.... Def glad I got it rectified before buying begins. Thanks for checking in.

Flowering Day 12

I started feeding them Fox Farms Tiger Bloom, at 1/3 recommended dose, with molasses this week and they received plain, ph'ed water later in the week. No negative response to the Bloom and both plants really shot up this week.

BB1

I've had to add books under this girl to keep her colas closer to the others in the tent. It still drinks about half as much as BB2. Also added a flower cage to help guide the colas to grow in a way I would prefer. That's my plan anyway.

BB2

The colas are lining up around the cage nicely. It looks like she grew about 4 or 5 inches in the last six days. Steady as she goes for now.

Topping has created a nice green canopy in my tent. Almost all in the picture are the two blueberries. There's a portion of my other plant in the right side and with that third plant they create the illusion of a sea of green grow. I thought I had my temps figured out last week but I slowly lost control and they creeped up to 82 for a little while. I have ordered a mobile AC unit to replace the old, heavy window unit. I should be able to direct the cooler air right into the closet which I'm hoping will allow me to remove a fan or two off the tent floor and give me more spacing for my three girls.

Thanks for stopping by!
