How do you guys mix amendments into big pots for the season? I picked up an auger (6" bit) to mix it and I tried it today but I don't know wtf I'm doing with the thing. I guess you just drill into the soil a thousand times? Seems like a shovel would take just as long.

I hear some people just top dress or till into top 6"? All i'm adding is 16 lbs/yd chicken manure (75% nutri-rich and 25% suprgreen). Is it ok to just do that instead of amending the whole pot? I would probably have to cut the dosage down if only amending the top 6"?

I would spread the.manure . Moisten then use the auger . And def change the amount if only going 6" deep . Good luck
