Plant Transfer from Cloning Foam to Root Basket
Hello,
I've been wanting to combine the step of cloning with foam and then transferring the plant to a net basket for the rest of development into one step. Ideally I would start a clone or seed in the same holder, and this would hold the plant to full maturity without having to transfer the plant at at all and could potentially reduce any stress associated with the transfer. Is anybody else interested in a cloner/root basket combination? Has anybody noticed stress associated with the transfer from cloning foam to a net basket? Or just thinks that growing in hydroponics/aeroponics would be easier without the step of transferring the plants between cloning foam and root basket? |

I've never messed with cloning foam, but i have transplanted clones to net pots for hydro from other mediums. Dirt, rapid rooter cubes, peat pellets, aero clones, ect. All of them work as long as the roots are getting moisture. What type of resivoir are you using? What medium in the net pot? Generally the biggest things that shock plants I have transferred is either nute ppm/ph change or nute solution temp change, light Intensity, or lack of water to roots. Personally I usually clone with either a dwc bubbler or just a humidity dome and seed starter trays. No noticeable issues or shock when transferring to hydroton net pots. A little less light when transplanting is a good thing for the first day or 2 if possible.
