Time for a little 1on1.

Cookies S1

Both of these have been purple black since week 3-4. I swapped lights from hps to diy led arrays and ran pretty cold for the first half of bloom. They've looked plenty healthy otherwise. Both stayed pretty squat and compact.

C4

I need to get in and clean her up a little bit - she was vegged longer than I intended and is a little thick. Other than that things are moving along as expected. She's usually done to my liking in 8 weeks.

Hightest X Sweet Skunk

The stretch on this one has really caught me off guard. Both the SS crosses have been very vigorous. I've been forced to get rough bend her in half. She's already doubled in height in the first week. I look forward the the end of stretch and the onset of flowering.

Congo x Sweet Skunk

This lady was dropped as I transplanted into this 5 gallon pot and lost a bunch of branches. I tried to make the most of it and trained her sideways. Not stretching much yet but she's in her first week.

Pot-of-Gold x Hindu Kush

not much to say yet. I pulled a couple lowers as clones otherwise this plant will grow naturally.

Pre98 Bubba s1 (verdant green)

Just tossed her into the bloom tent today. she's been consistently slower than the other plants. I understand this is to be expected with Bubba.

Great looking garden, Krausen!

Is this your first run under your DIY arrays?

The cookies are part of the first run under the leds. I'm quite happy with them. I just harvested a different strain and the quality appears better overall. I replaced 2x600w hps with 3x300watt arrays (6 cxb3590 3500k @1.4a per array).

Krausen this is a great show, what do you think of the cookies? and I have to ask, what companion plants are you using and why?

Robney,

I'm very happy with the cookies so far - vigor is good, they don't seem finnicky, yeild is what I'd expect from any OG variant, the structure is a huge improvement over lanky OG, and the resin production looks impressive. I'm really curious if I'll see any intersex traits in this last week. Assuming they don't produce any nanners I'd be happy to keep either of these plants around.

As for the "companion" plant experiment I'm working on - there's really no rhyme or reason to it. I'd guess I'm about 60% clover, 10% each fenugreek, buckwheat, alfalfa, wheat. It's whatever I had on hand or could be sourced easily (as sprouting seeds). My main goal is to ensure the surface layer of the soil doesn't settle and compact as I've noticed issues before. I occasionally do a "chop and drop" of the covercrop. When I go to remix my seed blend I will definitely omit the wheat it's a bit of an annoyance (but the green wheat berries are a nice treat!)

K
In my experience nanners in the last week means the plant has been finished already and is throwing the male flowers out as a last chance to reproduce and continue the line. Pre98 Bubba is usually perfect at 70 days (for my needs) but if you let her go beyond 77 days you'll wake up one day to a bunch of unopened nanners on all the Pre98's. The same thing happens with Chem#4, just a little different timeframe (can't remember exactly off the top of my head, but it happens).
It's the early nanners that you have to worry about as that would be a true intersex indicator and crop spoiler if they aren't noticed in time or are let go and not removed. It would take a week or so for seeds to actually develop anyway if any male flower opened, so as long as you cut them down before they open and seed the other plants you shouldn't worry about them at all, just chop them down at first sight if they should start to appear in the last week or last few days.
Hope this helps and makes some sense to you. They are really only true hermies if it happens in early to mid flower.

Peace,
KF
