well, the Tennessee legislature has further cemented its reputation as a crowded clown car of right-wing morons. recently, the two biggest cities (Memphis & Nashville, both Democratic strongholds) passed legislation allowing LEO to issue a civil citation to folks caught with minor amounts of cannabis as an alternative to giving them a criminal record. almost immediately, the state transportation grand poobah said he would look into barring either city from getting money to fix their roads. now, the state has decided to follow the Trump administrations lead on cracking down on recreational weed. Gov. Haslem (an intelligent man, normally) has issued a statement that he will bow to the wishes of the idiots he nominally presides over.
fucking bozos...

Bozos indeed. That could happen on a federal level but the political ramifications could be horrendous, especially when the majority voted for rec. Federal funding is a big stick but so is political preservation. Unfortunately that bozo Sessions doesn’t seem to care or know (although he did recluse himself on the Russian thing, but that could also have been for his own preservation).

SAD. I think TN has another bill in the works, allowing medical cannabis?
