predator bugs?
Hello I am starting my first outdoor garden. I am trying to grow cantaloupe, cucumbers, tomatoes, etc. I am popping the seeds indoors and as I am feeding the soil to get microbial life going, I have noticed spider mite webs popping up. I want to get a hold on this before it gets out of control. Also some ants.
What are some predator bugs I can get to take care of this problem? The soil is really fertile so I don't want to add any chemicals. Also when I plant the tomatoes I know they are going to attract even more bugs - I need some predators to eat them. Thanks for any info! I know there are some experienced gardeners out there who know how to manage this. I am just getting into general gardening and want to learn from those with experience who have natural techniques to prevent pest. Thanks! |

Pyrethrum is from plants and safe for edible crops 24hr or so from pre harvest application.

Yeah but thats like buying birds from a bird store and letting them free in your yard, John Woo movies are cool.

a good friend of mine recommended neem oil but said to get cold pressed - thinking I'm going to have to "go the plant based derivitive pesticide route" 5.0Ec seems badass but you're not kidding it's pricey..
