TreeGator?
I was visiting a friend in the hospital to bring him some "medicine"
and I was checking out some small trees that had just been planted. They had these really cool water bags that zip up around them. I have heard of drilling a 3/8 hole in a five gallon bucket thats placed at the base of the plant and 5or 6 refills last all season. It looks as if the bags come with adjustable drip holes so they could be worthwhile.Check it out at www.treegator.com any thoughts anyone? also it has a link for checking out drought forcasts for your area Last edited by piney1520; 06-26-2004 at 05:18 PM.. |

Martha Stewart strikes again
HAH!
Last night on Martha Stewart - she demo'd them. It is a plastic rez that holds 17 gallons - and fits around the base of your tree - or in our case tree to be ![]() It slow releases water to the root zone directly. I am currently experimenting with the Martha Stewart SCROG - they cost $3.75 and are nice painted steel scrogs - last forever ![]() Will post pics soon! -joe |

I found some good pic's if anybody, like myself, was curious....
Original: ![]() Junior: ![]() The junior looks like it would be a lot easier to hide... both have a 6 hour drip time... wonder if that could be extended up to a few days? Hummert is a good dealer but you'd better bring your wallet... these babies ain't cheap, they start at $152 for a 10 pack.... https://www.hummert.com/catalog.asp?P=12428 |

That's cool as hell. And if Martha is gettin good buds it has to good.
Is 20 gallons over 12 hours to fast? I wonder if you could come up with a cheap metering device that slows in down even more? Tex |

You could probably add drip emmitters from a hydro or gardening store - the junior was the one shown on martha - and they said it lasts a week - maybe they have flow control built in?
nice picts -joe |

Wow thats a killer idea, just too damn expensive for me. I wonder if you could do something similar and make it yourself, overall a good idea though, might save people alot of unnecessary trips. Good One.
