Grapefruit x ChemDbx

Hey everyone, I could not find a thread about the grapefruit x ChemDbx, I assume it's very new. I could not find this cross on ********** either which is generally my go to site.

I am still waiting on the seeds but this is going to be my first time growing Chimera's gear. I have high expectation to say the least. The beans will be popped upon reception and if this is as promising as it sounds, this thread will be a good place to watch it unfold. Feel free to share any info you have on this cross or the parents.

Wish me luck.

Good luck with these and I will be eagerly watching as I'm waiting on these myself. Although it will be a long while before I can pop them. I'm a fan of all things sweet pink grapefruit so I'm sure you will enjoy them.

welcome, Ive been wanting to try gear from Chimera for years but there always seemed to be something else or not available on whatever website I order from.

with the latest seed drop from BR with the old cultivator's choice's gear, and the fact that my good old trusted website to order beans from was down, the timing was perfect.

once in my career did I come across a true grapefruit plant, I believe it was a cross I made using TGA Spacebomb X Soma's NYCD. I recall the one plant even my girlfriend was blown away, it was the first time for me to get such a strong distinct smell. By then, I had grown lemony weed, orange weed, fruity weed, but nothing as undeniably accurate on the nose, that one plant was straight grapefruit. The whole house smelled of grapefruit. In fact, I probably have some beans that I might grow again. I just recall potency wasnt there, or some of the plants hermied ....

I can remember like it was yesterday, it was probably the day in my career as a hobby grower that I realized anything was possible.

Whether I get the true strong grapefruit smell or not from the chemDbx, I just wanna grow dank, and I will not need many females to know whether those seeds are the shit or not.

His GF cut gets big and heavy so be sure your humidity is in check. Check for dead leaves at the top of the buds for clues of budrot. I really want to grow this one out as well.

Thanks for the heads up! I hate budrot, lol, who does not!?

I am a pro at spotting it (I do the best I can, I live on Van Isle and really hard to keep RH below 50% 24-7) Also I am not greedy, I always break the big buds apart and inspect closely with a loop.

Knowing that they might grow big buds, I ll top aggressively in veg. Thanks again.

I seem to recall reading/hearing that the sweet pink grapefruit can also tend to flower when rootbound. A little foggy on where I read that, all the threads seem to coalesce at times and it's hard to remember. Hopefully someone who is a certified grapefruit expert can chime in, but it maybe something to keep in mind. And I'll take the ability to wear shorts pretty much year round over better humidity control and tons of snow that our fair isle allows

Yeah topping was how I combat it. I topped 2-3 times. If you leave it totem pole it's going to happen given your location. This is definitely one given the CD genes you would want to top anyways regardless of budrot risk, so it won't hurt yield at all.

This is going to be awesome smoke, the grapefruit terps and chemdog are dreamy =)

I just found a killer plant, but the clone kept wanting to flower in veg, maybe she's just sensitive to rootbound? All I have left of her is a tiny clone but I will try to give her lots of room to see if I can prevent it from flowering. She was fast, heavy...CBDy
