I love this guy, we can all learn something about preserving you rights from this guy!
Spark and arc before this one it is a bit long but well worth your time.

the utilities belong to...(dum dum dah DUM!) the utility company. folks are CUSTOMERS, but do not control the utility company. if they want to install Smart Meters, your best bet is to unlock the gate & let them in. if you do not wish to BE their customer, feel free to stop paying your electricity bill. let me know how that works out for you when you try to turn on the lights...

Not really surprised about Naperville.it's one of the richest suburbs in the country.they can afford to change all the meters.Naperville cops are dicks too.I kinda doubt they are looking for growers there though.everybody can afford to just buy weed there so spoiled there.

Wouldn't it make sense to simply place filters between worrisome devices and the power source... and have smart boxes to send false information to the smart meters? This would require a power buffer (battery storage with power inverter) but it might be worth it. The false information would be created by the chargers being programmed to pull power from the main line in such a way as to make them look like something else to the so-called 'smart meter'.
