Pandy's Pod

Hello to all Ace growers, future, present and past.

In this thread I'll display and share some thoughts about the Ace strains I've been working with.

First some info about my methods -

Vertical 1000w hps
Organic soil using peat based soil mix with added -
Perlite
Worm castings
Garden compost
Blood meal and feather meal
Alfalfa meal
High P bat guano
Composted kelp and kelp meal
Crab meal
Oyster shell
Gypsum
Green sand
Glacial rock dust

I apply molasses and humid acid weekly and sometimes make ewc or alfalfa teas. I also use neptunes harvest fish and seaweed blend 2-3-1 and neptunes harvest seaweed plant food 0-0-1 a few times during the flowering cycle. I have found the fish/seaweed to be too hot for the finicky sativas, perhaps the nitrogen is just too readily available.

I have a constant 11/13 lighting schedule in my flowering room (The Pod) and perpetual harvest. I'm fairly new to vertical growing but I enjoy the freedom it allows when growing plants of greatly varying heights.

Here's a couple shots of my room from a few months ago. It's tricky to get a decent pic but here we go.

Next up - Strain reviews

Cool set up, is that a fan below your light? Exhaust fan? Only one, or is there some more ducting above to cycle out hot air. I like the idea of perpetual harvest and ability to grow plants of varrying heights simultaneously...

Good looking setup, got a seat to see some more!

Thanks Ncali! That's actually just a regular fan sitting on an upside down bucket. I'm using it to dissipate the heat of the bulb and in doing so, I can get my plants really close to that bulb. Much closer than one would ever want to when using a reflector. I feel that this is important when growing vertically because your lumens are being spread around a much larger area, rather than being focussed by the reflector.

Nice setup PandyFacker! I also grow vert and hopefully you can answer a question for me? On the base of your light there is a flat metal piece.....did you make that or purchase it? I may go to double vert bulbs in the future and I would need a couple of those. Unfortunately I have limited tools and handyman skills so if you bought it I'd sure appreciate a source. Thanks!

Hey OT thanks for the kudos. Actually that bracket comes from a cool tube fixture that I had lying around. I needed it because the cord is held on to the bulb fixture using marrettes. Usually I would just tie the yo yo hanger onto the cord, that's what I have done in my veg room which is also hung vertically. So it's possible you might find something like this at your local hydro store? If not I would have no idea where to look.

Thanks to everyone for stopping in. Sorry I've been putting off the promised reports, I've been occupied the last few nights playing with my new toy - a rosin press.

The rosin I've been pressing is unbelievably strong. Stronger than any shatter I've ever tried. Then again, I've never had shatter made out of Malawi or golden tiger....
