The biggest issues I've seen w cal/mag is the fact that noone are correctly balanced for our plants. (Noone I've seen anyway)
You either have a Ca issue or a Mg issue.
With RO you have absolute control of what you are giving your plants whereas w tap water you're typically guessing what you're working with. HOWEVER... You can get ahold of your water supplier & request a water quality report &/or have your water from your tap tested. By doing so, you will have the ability to build your soil around your waters tested numbers.

I've been using RO & GH Ca/Mg and my plants became locked out because of the high Mg content relative to Ca. It fucked up my soil pH & now I'm in the process of fixing it & bringing my gals back to health.

My water fluctuates between 180-250 ppm according to my EC meter. It's pH is typically around 7 but I've seen it as low as 6.4 & as high as 8.6. Hardness is high due to CaCo3 being high. I need to get my water lab tested too.

I used to use RO water a couple years ago but switched back to tap because they looked the same if not better in coco...

the only ones having problems are the heavy kush strains. pretty sure they need more mag.

that's why I don't like calmag, it makes them green for a bit, then you need more of the stuff to keepem healthy. its like liquid crack for plants lol

I use Jacks 5-12-26 & calnit. I've used it as a liquid stock solution but like to weigh the dry powder, dilute in a mixing bucket with hot water, then add to the rez. I think if I switch up the ratios of jacks to calnit for the kush strains, I might be able to avoid using Epsom salts/magnum.

Well I have never had the problems you all describe using calmag,I guess we all get different results because we are different growers growing different strains in different places
