any chance for these dying/sick seedlings?
So, 2 of my 6 seedlings are sick. They sprouted about a week ago but 2 have been dying. One of the two lost one of it's cotyledon leaf on the shell. But the other, I have no clue. I took some pics under a microscope. Let me know if these are dead or salvagable. (These were planted in coco(flushed) + perlite):
sick northern lights https://imgur.com/a/2Xt2H sick ak-48 https://imgur.com/a/GEKzW I followed the feeding directions from the back of the AN's Grow, Micro, Bloom which is about 400ppm. Light is a Mars Hydro 192 in a 4x4 tent. Water is PH'd to 5.5 - 6.5 every time. It's just strange to me because the other 4 plants are really healthy and growing nicely. |

^^^What he said^^^
Seedlings don't need fed until they begin to lighten their color a bit. Those are suffering chemical burn from being fed too much. |

How come the other 4 plants are growing great and they were fed the same stuff? I'm trying to learn from mistakes. I read when germinating with coco, you're suppose to add a small amount of nutrients because coco is pretty bare. Thanks in advance, guys.

Are you using tap water or RO? Different strains, different seedlings have their own nutrient needs and tolerances. I've had best luck starting seed in coco with RO + 5ml calmag and 5ml Liquid Karma.

@stizzle, I'm using tap water. My tap water has a ppm of around 80.
So for everyone else, for coco + perlite, are you guys saying dont water until the leaves lighten in color? |

Water... DONT FEED... Seed plants store the energy they need to germinate & develop in their cotyledons. That's why eating sprouts is a healthy practice. Once that energy is depleted you will see plants begin fading. This is your signal to begin feeding. |

@MJPassion, during the watering stage, how important is it to PH the water? Personally, I use tap water (mine is at 80ppm). Do I need to add calmag into it or not? Or just add tap water by itself?
