policy question

Hey SB Folk,

Wanted to ask something. on the website it states

"If you are the winner of an auction, payment must be received by Seedbay within 14 days of the auction closing date. If at the end of 14 days no payment has been received the item will be relisted at the Sellers discretion."

but it also states you don't respond to anything under 30 days passed the purchase date; I'm curious how you handle this normally? I've orderd from SB once before and wasn't unsatisfied over any part of the process, im only asking because i know mail can take longer than 2 weeks as stated, I sent in an order and i was wondering if i dont get a shipment notification after 14 days if I should inquire about resending payment - or wait the 30 days?

I ask this because I don't want to have the seeds I got relisted over silly mail.

is there a safer way to ship payments to SB for the future? am thinking of placing a larger order and dont want to go through the "what if" stresses with regular global mail.

I've ordered from SBoo and Sbay too, many a times. This the first one that didnt make it :(

What it means is that auction payments are due withinin 14 days of win date. If there was no 'due by' date then the site could not run efficiently, inventory control would be a nightmare.

Read this again:
If at the end of 14 days no payment has been received the item will be relisted at the Sellers discretion."

This means it is up to the seller, even if the seller is SB. Doesn't mean that they WILL be relisted, means they are eligible.

This policy is to keep SB running smoothly without inventory hiccups. There just isn't staff time to answer all the emails generated in a shorter period of time, especially when they consist of such things as 'mailed my payment 3 days ago, no confirmation yet, did you get it?'

What seemed to be working it's way into the routine previously were those who,for whatever reason, did not mail their payment in the alloted time frame, so SB was overrun with emails with all sorts of excuses and this became very problematic in trying to keep track of inventory.

It can take a variable amount of time for an order, once processed and shipped, to be received. Often times packages get returned due to improper return address provided by the member. In these cases the member will be notified.

If you have not received a confirmation of shipping in your 'communications' inbox on the SB site within 14 days, that means your payment did not arrive.

If you are late (getting close to 14 days), best to use overnight . All orders received via overnight mail receive an additional freebie. Actually, overnight mail is the safest, most dependable and efficient way to send payment, but is costly, so SB tries to help offset this cost a bit by giving an additional freebie to those who elect this method.

SB is NOT immediately relisting on the 15th day, or even the 16th day, although SB retains that right.

The '30 days prior to auction inquiry' is for those who HAVE received confirmation of shipping but who have not yet received their package. By waiting 30 days, then inquiring, it gives the package time to be returned if that is the cause.

However, policy should be reworded a bit to reflect that if you have not received confirmation of shipping in your communications box on SB within the 14 day payment period you may make an inquiry, whereby the specific lot(s) can be held in inventory for an additional 7 day period to give the option of sending via overnight payment only. No inquiries regarding undelivered packages on processed orders will be responded to without waiting 30 days.

Thanks!

Eek Oyster! that's why I atleast send a money order instead of cash.

DG: Thank you so much for the reply. I'll overnight payments from now on.

I sent a bank money order which I have a receipt for, If it gets lost in the mail and you don't receive it after 14 days am I elligable to cancel the payment of a money order like a credit card? I know from working sales you have 18 months on a credit card to call and request a cashback transfer from your bank if you havn't received a product or service.

just curious for those in the know if that's possible.
