First grow setup
Hey all! I'm about to run my first grow and I've done a lot of research and help of a close friend who's been at it for 5 years. I'm aiming high, wanting to get close to that 1g/w. Obviously I know very few people hit that mark, even experienced growers but it's good to have lofty goals. I'm looking for some input on my list here that could help me reach that goal or if you have suggestions I'm all ears. I'd like to get as close to 2lbs as possible on a soil grow, 10 plants.
60x60x80 Horticulture Grow tent 3 600w HPS/MH kits Horticulture 1800 total watts 2 Oscillating clip fans 1 6" 400 cfm exhaust fan w/ IPower carbon filter Dehumidifier if needed My area has good ventilation and several vents. Our AC can get incredibly cold, and I can force most of that cool air in that area. Northern lights x skunk g13 labs Fox farm ocean forest soil /30% perlite (not sure about perlite) 10 vivosun fabric 5gal smart pots (smaller?) Vegamatrix or Fox Farm trio (anyone use vega?) Molasses (some input here, not sure) PH up/down to help With the help of a friends I will be using either LST or scrog (if scrog probably run 4-5 plants) Veg for 1 mos Flower for 8-9 Assuming I pay close attention to temps, humidity, any deficiencies, keeping lamps close as possible without hurting my plants, ect am I setting myself up for a good run at that 2lb mark? I chose the strain based on it being friendly to inexperienced growers and possible yield/potency ratio. Appreciate you checking this out! May have forgot some stuff! |

It seems with the details that you've outlined that 2 pounds is a sound goal to have, yes however, whether or not you yield exactly 2 pounds isn't the important aspect. Focus on creating a soil environment as well as a growing environment that will result in happy plants. Keep the quality of your smoke in mind and nothing more. This will yield the most satisfaction. Begin to develop a relationship as well as an understanding of these plants that you can continue to expand and improve. While i am very new to ICMag i am not new to cultivating this plant, with that said i can explain from first hand experience that new growers tend to be too excited/concerned with their yield me included. Getting out of that mentality early will save you a lot of grief if and when things go wrong and trust me they will. No matter what take the good and the bad as a learning experience and most importantly HAVE FUN. The weight will come with time young grass smoker. Feel free to directly message me if you ever want a quick opinion or help with anything more specific.

Also, using molasses is a great additive to your water in small quantities (tblspn or so per gallon). The microbiology in your soil that is crucial for healthy plants feed on molasses and multiply by the hundreds of thousands. These micro organisms called Mycorrhizae help synthesize or breakdown the amendments in your soil and make them more available to your ladies.

Mycorrhizae are one of thousands of types of microorganisms that should be part of your environment. Good luck. -granger
