Purple Maroc Outdoors
I'm looking for good potent outdoor strains that finish early for my latitude at 43°N in the Midwest. This year I decided I'm going to try Purple Maroc. Has anybody grown this strain outdoors? I have read many times it's a tough early strain, my concern is potency. I bought a 4 pack to give them a shot but I'm still hoping to hear from others who have grown Purple Maroc.

Sorry for the late reply but we are getting crazy with our brand new Website and we could not check that often the Forums...our bad. By the way, Maroc is more potent but the PM yields more and it has a uplifting high. When talking about potency, well, the Maroc wins and people list potency among the characteristics of this variety. Purple Maroc finishes a bit later than Maroc and it is of a more mold resistant. About the phenos. Mostly 2 phenos, of which one is more Sativa and could happen to get a more Indicaish pheno but the last one is less probable. Some phenotypes are very photosensitive and can flower under 18/6 or 20/4. If you have more questions or doubts, just write us and we will try to get back to you asap. Cheers, B.

Never grown it myself but read lots of good things about purple Maroc from guerilla growers - its supposedly a proven strain with good taste/stone even in shit conditions, certainly one I'd like to try.
Btw they will finish more like late sept/early oct at higher latitudes ie above 50. |

I too am at 42N. I grew Maroc instead of Purple Maroc because it is a smaller, stealthier plant. I have been successful growing most of Female's catalog at our lat. especially the indica hybrids, WWxBB, a few from their Indoor Mix. I also grew Outdoor Grapefruit which was ready the 1st week of Sept. It's potency was as good as their regular grapefruit and yielded much better than Maroc ~ 4 oz vs 2 oz. Maroc 's potency is good and it has a unique flavor but, for me the grapefruit's potency was stronger and it reeked of grapefruit both growing and smoking. Female's plants have always been among the best performers in my garden.

Hey everyone,
Glad to see many people interested in the PM and thank you all for your feedbacks ![]() To be honest with you, it is a common fact that the Maroc is more potent but the PM yields more. That said we have to consider where you plant and when you plant. And anyway be careful with pre-sowing Indoor, because if you do so there is the risk that the plants start flowering earlier than expected. And is true that it flowers later when talking about 50N or more (as ZITZ wrote too) but for a latitude of lower than 50 you can expect them to be ready maximum by the half of September! Quote:
