Welcome fellow growers. For this grow we will be hunting through some Lowryder mixed seeds to see if any jewels can be found. I will be dusting off the old PC grow box and running an eight plant uSOG. It's a grow box with about 50 watts of DIY COB lighting. You can see the build and some of 12/12 from seed grows here.

I soaked some beans in water and am waiting for them to crack.


I made my own fabric pots that are about the size of a 16 oz. party cup. I filled the pots up with soil and watered them allowing them to "cook" while the beans germinate.

I'm still having trouble with these Lowryder seeds. The seeds cracked after about 48 hours in RO water, but didn't do a whole lot more in the paper towels on the seedling mat. I'm not sure if these seeds were old stock, or if something happened to them during shipping. I went ahead and planted them anyway. Hopefully given some time, they will poke their little heads up.

I have three more seeds left to try, perhaps someone has some advice to help the issue?


I went ahead and germinated some more seeds from that same order to determine if something may have happened...

This should be awesome. I think im going to germ the rest of my indica dom autos. I cant remember who gave them to me or what they are, might be Spyder. The other Autos I have are 16 week Lowryder ak47 x O haze.... I have just 1 girl in flower right now maybe 2 weeks to go that Im excited about, should give me something to smoke until I get my sativas almost done.

I wanna definitely turn these last 5 beans or so into 100 so I can actually start doing a auto project unless I can find someone to hook me up... Autos are so fun

Welcome Dr.Young. I've done a couple of auto grows, but nothing this small. I used to do a 12/12 from seed uSOG in this case, so it should be possible. If things get out of hand, I have a bigger area I can put them in.

I haven't decided if I want to keep any males this time around. It all depends on the quality of the plants. Autos are a lot of fun. I like how fast they grow and how every day they are different.

Hey sorry, if they opened they should be developing roots.. Maybe 48 hours in water can be too much if the water is not sufficiently oxygenated, normally you always keep the seeds for so long in water? The recommended are 12 hours, maximum 24, although I have had them for up to 3 days having even developed the root , And released from the shell, although in those times I have always applied a few drops of hydrogen peroxide.. Wishing happy news in the next update..

No, I normally soak for 24 hours and then into the ground. The hydrogen peroxide is a good idea. I will try that on the last three along with the shorter soak. I'll skip the paper towels too, I'll use a jiffy starter greenhouse. I haven't written the others off yet, perhaps they will surprise me.

After a bit of struggling, this Seedsman Lowryder competition is a go! I've had a hard time germinating the seeds for the competition, but sometimes the simplest solution is the best. I simply put them into the peat puck and one is up, the other looks like it may come up in a day or two. The other varieties are also auto flowering from the same order. I wanted to make sure nothing was wrong with the order, so tested germinating some other seeds. A larger grow area will be free in a couple of days, so I am going to run 6-8 of the ones that come up in 2 gallon smart pots in my storage cabinet. Though there will be other varieties in there, we will be focusing on the Lowryder. They are the two on the left.

Maybe just kinda pull a few girls, and guys to the side for a little isolation. Just to keep the spirit of the animal alive!! She is definitely a special species to keep around!
