Tom Hill X18 - Germ Test
Hello all
![]() Just wanted to show you my results of a germ test undertaken on 20 seeds of Tom Hills X18 var. Thought I'd check germination rates since some voiced concerns regarding viability. Results came out quite well. 17 out of 20 seeds germinated after 48 hrs. I hope the other 3 seeds might produce tap roots shortly. Thanks |

I got 9/10, but 1 didn't survive transfer from paper into soil.
Edit: And they germed extremely quick - 24hrs for all of em to sprout tap roots.

Good news.
I had very poor germ rates like many people who bought their discount seeds (X18 and DeepChunk) from Seedbou, and i allways thought it was a storage conditions causing the poor germination, not age. I just had a 100% germination with original Spice Brothers seeds, which are probably around 5 years older than the last batch of Tom Hill's X18. I got four X18 plants out of 30 seeds.

The original packaging in which I received these seeds from Tom was a sandwich baggie inserted in the rear end of a plush miniature giraffe. There was only enough Giraffe for a single person to receive the original packaging, so you are out of luck on that one. Tom never had breeders packs aside from a sticker on a dime bag. I was never given enough of his stock to merit making serious packaging for these lines, so no they don't come in 'original packaging', as no original packaging exists. If you are able to track down Tom he will confirm that he sent us these seeds to distribute, but alas he has taken an extended leave of absence, so that might prove somewhat of a challenge. I assure you though that these are authentic "Tom Hill" seeds produced under Tom's direction in Spain, and are genetically the same as the lots sold via SB/SB up to 2015. The only difference being these were stored in my scientific seed fridge since we received them shortly after their creation. Hope that clarifies, -Chimera

Perhaps if you skin the cuddly toy... - then B.Retail can send out a small square of plush giraffe pelt out with each pack?
