I haven't looked at my plants up close for a few days and noticed a few yellowing spots on older leaves, yellowing veins, and some purplish stems. I added a little cal mag to the general hydroponics the 2 times I used them. Not sure if I need to water with cal mag always or just when the coco drys or add nitrogen?

Lay off the cal mag. Or use a more ammonius type nitrogen supplement. The more calcium present needs a balance of nitrates. If your using dechlorinated tap theres tons of cal mag in there already... But no ready nitrates. The more salts you throw in it need balancing by nitrates plain and simple. That speckling on the tips is the burn from those salt buildups.

That depends on the tap water you're using. Some areas have lots of Ca in their tap. Some have very little.

When I planted the sprouted seeds I did put them over an inch deep in the coco mistakenly.

That's why your seedlings are so squat keeping t5s close 1st wk. stop s the spindly stretch nice job ,all good advice one thing I like when plants are still a lil yellow adjusting to new coco is lots of runoff to condition the coco then your plants will start to green up, just my opinion.

Give em full dose 6/9 not 1/6. If you scared to not overfeed then give em half dose but 1/6 is crazy low. I watering coco with 6/9 then sprout seeds directly in coco everything explode.

Thanks for the help. I watered them today till run off and got ppms in the 350-650 range. Going to skip the cal mag next time and use less diluted nutrients.
