Killing Fields (purple and green pheno)
There are many strains out there offered commercially that have a good reputation but require some selection before you get "the intended pheno" in the descriptions, and out of a 10 pack, you may or may not find what you're looking for . My experience with Killing Fields F2 was the complete OPPOSITE:I got 1 purple pheno and one green pheno out of 3 seeds (third was male). Maybe it was luck, or maybe the genetics are good, I don't know because the other 7 seeds were never popped. The purple phenotype was so good that it was cloned for years, making it unnecessary to pop anymore beans.
The purple phenotype was not only decently strong, but it also had a sweet pungent, slightly berry aroma that directly translated into the flavor. Even "non-green rips" taste good! Of course, compared to "modern day" OG lines (new strains are much like rap songs, they are in vogue for maybe 1-3 years max), I'd say this isn't as strong potency-wise, but it's a great break from the modern hyped out strains. The high is a very balanced cerebral and body effect, very good for social situations. Water hash is super-sweet and tastes just like the buds themselves, it has less of that oxidized resin flavor that you typically get. Contrary to other reports, the green phenotype wasn't better flavored or superior in any way in my experience, it tasted very similar and a very similar level of potency/flavor. However, the green pheno seemed to have slightly less complex flavors perhaps due to the lack of anthocyanins. Nevertheless, both phenotypes were the first to be consumed out of dozens of strains because it's this is the type of weed you keep going back to. Plants finished around mid october outdoors in zone 9, but they probably could have gone a little longer. Thanks to modern day bottle-necked genetics, they started to rot after being exposed to a few rain storms. The purple pheno has an unquestionable bag appeal: ![]() ![]() You really need to keep feeding the plant during flowering to get heavy yields: ![]() Considering the modest size of the plant, the yields were great: ![]()

Night shot with a flash:

Thanks everyone! Out of curiosity, has anyone else had good results with the F2 version of killing fields or any version for that matter? I read a lot of negative reports on this forum, but there were mostly positive reports on another forum, which makes it hard to believe one or the other.

I have never grown KF I just heard that the purple pheno was less potent than the green but your having the opposite results which is cool info.

Who is the breeder on killing fields f2? Where can i pick some up? Beautiful plant shots up there. Do you have any of the dry nug shots? Looks like a nice yield and dense bud. I can't imagine getting 2 keepers out of 3 and not growing out the rest of the seeds. But that's just me ;P

Google search "killing fields F3" and you should be able to find what you're looking for I never tried any of the other versions that S@*Ni* released, but it seems the more they're selected, the better the uniformity. You'd expect F2 to be all over the place, I'll pop those remaining beans in the next few years and give an update.
