really looking good,man!

im really diggin on the colors
those top ones look really nice and are taking on a nice fade!
/are you still feeding these or are you using just plain water at this point?
the ones at the bottom too!
i like the hints of purple in there
it looks like she is just starting to really swell up too!
/have you taken a closer look at the trichs?
how many days along is she
and i have to ask:do they smell like fuel?

@rhodehazard
the light is about 8-10" away
im thinking this mostly genetics man,but yea,she is really expressing indica traits!

/the plants in the background have a little more internodal space and are more sativa leaning strain

Good morning pop_rocks.
Thanks! I'm calling the one in the first pic the Lombardi trophy because the cola is the size and shape of a football. Looks like the trophy is home in 2017 after all. Haha. I'm surprised that the one is getting that purple color because it's never seen temps below 67 deg. I had been under the impression that it's colder temps that bring out the colors. It's the only one of that strain that was a girl so not sure if they all are like that but I like it. My first purple bud I've grown.

So I've gone really light in nutes the whole grow and the ocean forest soil has been good to them. I flushed a week or so ago and they have been fading nice since then. They were on different watering schedules so some got fed a bit more than others. Just plain spring water the last week or so.

They have been swelling for a couple weeks now. Everything seems to happen so much faster with these autos. I've been watching the trichs for a couple weeks now. They are pretty much all cloudy with an odd amber to be seen if you look enough. They are almost exactly at 60 days today. They broke soil on about 12/16/16. Super fast cycle which these girls.

As far as scent they have a fruity floral smell in the tent. If you rub a bud you get some of that fuel smell. I haven't done much molesting of the plants so I'll have more info as to taste and smell after I harvest and dry them. I'm looking forward to sampling these buds and should get my chance in a few days.

The LW's are looking good and getting a lot of leaves going. I haven't had them out to get any pics lately but I soon will. I'm hoping to start seeing the males in the next week or so. I'll get an update on them done in a day or two when they get water.

i bet she will make a super bowl of smoke!
i really like how stout she is
looks great and really packing on the bud
about how tall is she?

i also like the use of the grate over the large pot you ahev the plants on!
that is an excelent idea and i will remember that as an easy way to flush your plants
/using a five gallon bucket and you can easily run several gallons of water through a potted plant without overflow
brilliant move,man!

Sunny FL Indica will become famous soon enough
I was just going to ask if they were autos after seeing the pictures based on the size but saw the post above that yupperdoodle, they were.

Looking nice.

Have you grown these before? At that size, its probably something I can sneak into my backyard and not have anybody notice at all.

Any smoke reports? I'm not into Sativas as I use the devils lettuce to help me sleep first and foremost. Those leaves look WLD more than NLD and I'm wondering how they hit?

As for the purps I'm wondering if you kept the temps the same I'm wondering if there's a significantly different taste to the smoke. I had some weed a few years ago that was very purple, and the best way to describe the smoke was it tasted like that old fashioned, "violet gum". I wasn't much of a fan of taste wise, and it wasn't very powerful, but man, was it relaxing. I remember sitting on the couch and having my legs feel like they left my body. This was right after the accident and was just a fantastic feeling. Almost nothing in the head. If I'm right, it was a really high CBD strain but there was no testing to know what it truly was.

Curious to know the punch it packs, especially after a few weeks in a mason jar.

Good morning pop_rocks.
Yep she is a good girl. Going to get a pic of her next to a football to show her off.
She is about 20" or so tall and like all buds. Buds all the way down to the dirt. Got great light penetration on these and with few leaves there is all good solid buds even at the bottom.

That grate is an old cooling rack for a cookie tray. It works well for flushing these smaller pots that I'm using for these plants. It's pretty thin so not sure if it would work for the bigger pots that I use for reg plants they are too heavy but something similar might be good. I have a 30 gallon tub that I use to use to fill with ice for beer kegs that would hold enough to flush a 5 or so gallon pot.

Are you getting any biking in? The weather here is still unseasonably warm and it has me thinking about taking a ride around the neighborhood. It's suppose to be in upper 50's this weekend. Frost is melting in the ground so way too muddy to do any riding or even hiking off road. Hope your week is going well...Fiddy.

Good morning Sunny.
This is my first try of autos. I wanted to try them for a few reasons but their size and easy concealment was one of the top ones. Some of them stay under 18" in hight so they can easily be hidden by other plants. I wanted to do some in the yard but my wife doesn't want me to until the laws change.

I don't have any idea how they are going to smoke yet but I'll be putting up smoke reports as soon as I try them. I think I've read that autos are higher in CBD than most photos. I'm thinking it will be a fairly relaxing buzz but will have to wait and see. I'll let you know in a couple weeks.

Various purple buds have been around here once in a while and the ones I've had have had a lot of variance. Most have been average or below. The only one that stands out was a couple packs of purple goo that I had a few years back. It was a very Indica strain, I think a 100% if I remember. I know the purple color is an indica thing. I loved it but some of my friends did not. In fact most people either loved or hated it.

If you are interested in some seeds you can private message aridbud and he will email you a catalog. Check my "Fiddynut tries some autos" thread for more info.

i guess it looked sturdier in the picture
im sure a heavier rack would work
/i still thinks its a "grate" idea

no we have not been getting in much trail riding lately
we are having a lot of rain and most of our favorite spots are still kind of wet
we could have rode last week but i had family in town
/instead we spent the time haveing lots of family fun and eating way too much!
mrs chicky has been doing a lot of running lately but im sure we will be back on the bikes soon

a lot of varieties show colors naturally and purple is probably the most common one
cold temps can often bring out a veriety of colors in plants, but based on what fiddy said, im thinking this is more a genetic expression of color
a lot of the purple strains ive grown had that special "purple" taste
kind of a berry/grape flavor, those were some of mrs chickys favorites
while they were not the strongest strains, they had great bag appeal and were fun to smoke
/when you grow your own it dosent really matter if you need an extra toke or two to get where you wanted to go

at 20" that strain would be perfect for a stealth garden grow
if you live someplce where it would be cool, im sure you could pull it off
plant a variety of plants around it and be sure to break up any major sight lines
back yard grows can be some of the best

/i will also recommend shooting aridbud a PM

Good morning pop_rocks.
I love it hahah "great idea". You have a great sense of humor and have found good ways to convey it in writing.

Yep way too muddy to ride around here too. Going to do some peddling around the neighborhood this weekend though. It's been nice dog walking weather here so Rufus is happy.

Food and family is what it's all about. I need to take a few pounds of winter fat off so I have to eat a little smarter and start getting some more exercise. The time of year for pigging out and watching football is over.

I agree that purple is a nice color for buds. I've herd that many purple varieties have a lavender scent. It defiantly seems like an indica thing. All the purple stuff has also been mellow buzz weed. Nice evening smoke for chilling. These autos seem to have a very floral fruity smell. One is just like old school juicy fruit gum. Kind of grape like as well. I'm with you that I'd rather smoke something tasty and take more puffs.

Not only do these stay short enough for a stealth grow but they don't smell obnoxious enough to draw any attention either. They are also very hardy and would lend themselves to gorilla grows. They finish on time and would not need much care. You could probably plant them and come back in 60 days and they would be done.

The weekend is almost here and it's looking like it's going to be almost 60 deg all weekend so I'm stoked to do some riding and some other outdoor activities. I hope all is going well...Fiddy.

Update and pics

Greetings friends.
The LW's are doing well and got their second watering since transplant last night. They have more than doubled in size since the pot up 8 days ago. They are growing like crazy and the roots have moved into the pot well. Some have an inch of root poking out of the bottom already. No males have shown themselves yet but I'm hoping that they start showing soon. A couple have really shown great vigor and are a good bit bigger than the rest. There are a couple of slower ones as well. Now I just have to be patient and watch them.

I've decided not to take cuttings of these plants this time around. I don't really have space to keep mothers and the humidity dome. Growing reg seeds means I need room in the veg tent to have at least 8 plants veging and that just doesn't leave for moms and clones. I will probably add a small tent and light just for clones and a couple moms in the next few months. For now I just want to keep the tents packed and get experience growing.

The new plan is to boot the males then top the girls once. After a couple days I will pot them into final pots and veg for a few more days then into the flower tent. If I get a really special plant I can try to reveg and then take cuttings.

Here are a couple shots of one of the average sized LW's from last night.

yeah a small clone area dosent have to be anything elaborate
a simple florescent bulb and a humidity dome is really all you need
it dosent even have to be a tent, you could just throw some tarp over a small table and attach the light underneath

it sounds like you have a good selection of seed tho so you could go either way
there are pros and cons to growing from seed v clones
im just glad you tried taking cuts and now know you can do it!

that wookie looks beautiful!
nice structure and fat leaves
if this is average, you are doing quite well, my friend!

i am a big fan of novelty when it comes to weed
give me the fun colors and interesting flavors any day
just like with food, i think we appreciate the weed with our eyes
im also a big fan of flavor
if it was strictly about getting knock out stoned, we would all be smoke hash anyways
/that or eating brownies
but i enjoy smoking it and appreciate the differences we can find

thats good to hear you and rufus have been getting out lately
60' sounds great!
some days you can totally smell spring in the air
im not going to complain too much about the rain,we sure need it
im just sorry its causing so many problems across the state

thanks for the compliment btw, i notice you express yourself very well in writing too
have you taken any classes or do you write down your thoughts often
heck, maybe you jsut are having fun banging on the keyboard!
