I agree that the evolution is impressive. The first one was just a little better that the industrial hemp buds that i stoled when i was young and dumb lol Now they output decent little weeds.

The (new) final products are decent now, but outside of the spectrum of my uses. I say that without any criticism or hate, but it's plants for teenagers for me. Easy to grow and easy to smoke, one shot, not too strong and not too long lasting, big marketing, increased chances in guerrillas ... i can ear people wich use it for different reasons (and wich are not teenagers lol) but all is here for me as a specific product standardized for one type of grower.

I think most people have problems with seeds, not autos specifically. Since all the seedbanks on icmag sell inconsistent unstable gmo crap. Just something more for them to market

Not to revive a dead thread but...

My issue is not necessarily with autos but companies like FB that have "GSC" and "gg4" autos that don't even resemble the actual photoperiod counterparts. Money making sham in my opinion. To top it off FB claims to be American genetics but they are obviously not from US as I've seen on multiple sites their English is awful and are likely based in Europe. Taking advantage of hot US genetics for sure...

I don't like Auto's indoor because you can't clone them so you have to buy seeds every crop wich is only good for seeds sellers. The second point is the increase of light hours to grow them with success, you need to give 18/6 or 20/4 hours of light/dark to get good yield so more power used in the process wich is extremly negative, for your bills and for climate.

I had dismissed all autos until I was given a pack of FastBuds Blackberry Auto, the plants were neglected and just fitted in with the main crop ...however the finished plants all had amazingly purple flowers and a kick ass buzz, very impressive, so time to try them again soon

The thing is comparing an auto with a tropical nld (IMO) or an hybrid like mextiza,lilly,quenn mother... its the end product what matters for me and i yet didnt try any auto that made me feel like i am smoking ganja!. Have you tried to grow any non auto and compare results (yield is shit best plants 99% of the times are low yielder), have you tried an auto that gets you high for more than four hours, with electricity on your arms and legs. Dont want to offend anybody i just saw the thread and share my opinion. There is some sort of commercial hype about them. Maybe outdoors in northern latitudes they will be worth it, but just because nothing else can finish up there. Here in spain there are the hype now, the people just want something quick nevermind the end product it will sell. And believe me once you try a good non auto you will never look back

I have grown autos that rival photo plants for potency .
Just like photo strains you gotta kiss a lot of frogs before you meet the princess . lol .

I don't hate them either, I just can't get myself to grow them.

I bought some auto seeds which I will eventually try, but I'm so enthralled with photoperiod cannabis to the point that I don't want to stop doing what I'm doing with them. It seems like the relationship is more intimate with a photo. I REALLY ENJOY the process of deciding when to switch them to flower.

Finally, with my setup it's much better to have the lights on and off for 12 for most of the grow rather than on for 18-20 the entire time.

I think Auto's can be useful for outdoor growing but indoor it makes no sense.
