Unless your sitting on a commercial grow the risk outweighs the benefit. Even if you catch the bastards the bud you will lose by chopping and moving will pale in comparison to the lawyers you will need if you shoot or harm an intruder.

I have had so much abuse and oppression in my life you wouldn't believe, and it gets to a point where enough is enough.

I am a christian and belive in hell, so i don't want to go there, but by the same token if I'm attacked again something must be done.

After the holocost the jews said, never again.

I can apply that to my own life, and say "Never again".

There were people (tweakers) living in my ceiling, and they would come down through the manhole in the ceiling at night.

I wasn't prepared at the time to deal with it, both mentally, physically and resource wise.

My mistake in trying to deal with it was calling the housing authorities and telling them if they didn't get rid of the tweakers living in my ceiling then I would burn my house down.

So instead of addressing the issue the instead attacked the messenger, and I go wrongfully improsoned in the mental hospital.

So now I have learnt to keep my mouth shut and not rely on other people, but instead be prepared for such eventualities so I can deal with them myself.
