Update and pics

Greetings friends.
The plants got a good watering last night. It had been 5 days since they were transplanted and given water. They have been growing a lot since and I expect them to be more thirsty in the weeks to come. I'd found and booted 3 males and the tent is getting less crowded.

They have been growing a lot since transplanting. I spotted 2 more males this morning and I think I see pistils on 5 of the 6 that are left, just as of this morning. I'll keep a good eye on them and see but it looks like there are 5 males 6 females and one that was kind of a runt that I didn't have too to transplant. This is what I was planing for. I wanted at least 5 or 6 females to grow out and it looks like that is exactly what we have here. I'll get some close ups of the girls next update. Here are some pics of them from the top.

So far so good and this grow is going well. I've learned a few things so far and can see where I can improve next time.
Thanks for stoping by and checking out this grow. I'll update again at the end of the week when they need water again.
Thanks...Fiddy.

Hello, interesting! I think I watch often. By the way, Packers are in the playoffs.

Good afternoon Herman.
Thanks for stoping by to check out this grow. These plants are getting bigger and this should get interesting here. This grow is very important since my other grow is looking like it's going to end in disappointment and some plants full of seeds.

Yes the packers got it turned around and the playoffs are like a new season. Maybe they are hot at the right time. We will see how they do the next couple weeks.

I hope you are well and having a great start to 2017. Peace...Fiddy.

Greetings friends.
So I had some problems with my other grow and these autos are going to get the benefit of the 600w light and bigger tent in a couple days. I had planed to move them in a couple weeks or so but plans have changed and get adjusted. I'll be cleaning my flower tent tonight and once that's done I can move the AF's in. I'm pretty sure that the 6 I have left are all girls.

I have a couple questions that I hope ab can help me with.
Should I use the MH bulb for a couple weeks or go straight to the HPS? I've herd that the more blue spectrum is a better light for veg but not sure how much more veging they want to do. Since I see pistils do they go right to the stretch and flower? Also have read that the blue light is better for reducing stretch. My other question is do I need to put any support stakes in my pots? If they are going to need support I want to get the stakes in right away so I don't damage the roots down the road.

I'll put up an update once the girls are in their new home. I have a feeling they are going to love the light once they get moved.
Thanks...Fiddy.

If too much blue spectrum light is used during bloom, autoflowering marijuana Ruderalis genetics produce leafy buds that aren’t as desirable as tight buds covered in resin glands. Fine to use HPS the whole way through.

They stretch but continue to flower. I noticed you are using perhaps gallon containers? Just be aware- you won't reap much, as mentioned, in the few auto grow guides we provided. We suggested 3 gallon containers for smaller autos which you are growing.....2 gallon at the very least.
My other question is do I need to put any support stakes in my pots?
Stake them if you need to....LST is the preferred method to get the maximum bud structure.

Good afternoon ab.
Looks like HPS it is. I think the HPS bulb is brighter than the MH bulb anyway so I'm getting the most light per watt this way.

The pots are 10" and should hold 2 - 2.5 gallons. If I size them up with my 5 gal bucket they come over the 3 gallon mark on the side but are more narrow as they taper toward the bottom. I can put a 1 gallon jug completely inside and there is a lot of space around it. These were the absolute biggest pots that I could use and still get 11 in the tent. Had I had the space or started fewer seeds I'd have gone with 12" pots that hold at least 3 or so gallons. I think the pots look smaller than they are because of how I have them arranged. Also my tent is an oversized 2'x4' meaning it's more like 30" x 54".

I haven't done any LST yet so this presents an opportunity to try something new. I'll read up on that and see what I can do.

Thanks for the info ab. Update and pics coming once the move is complete...Fiddy.

Ok. They just looked small in the picture.....and seeing how plants have responded (small) made me think small 1 gallon....those are 10" and ~8" across.

With the HPS light, you should see rapid development!

A few LST tutorials:

We use cotton string and tape down outside of container.

Good morning ab.
Yep the pots look small in the pics but are 10" across and 10" tall. On the smaller side but no way I could have fit 12" pots in the tent.
I was chopping my plants and started cleaning tent up last night. One more cleanup tonight and it should be ready. I'll read the tutorials tonight and and get the twine and tape ready. Update and pics once the girls are in their new tent. All 6 remaining look to be girls for sure.

For future (indoor) grows...start with larger container and plant 2-3 in them....then if male, easily plucked and you don't hamper root growth.

Plants look healthy...YAY! Keep up the great work!

They'll do OK, just not great....the more ample room for roots, the better overall plant growth/yield.

Good morning ab.
Planting 2 or 3 in a pot I'd a great idea. I wish I'd thought of that. I've seen some vids of Jamaicans doing that outdoors and pulling the make or if both females they would let the stronger out grow the weaker one. I never thought about trying it indoor. Will do that next time for sure.
Plants seem happy and are growing like crazy. I'll do an update this morning and you can see how much they have grown in the last three days. Now under the HPS they will take off for sure. Thanks for the links on LST, I tied down the two tallest ones last night.
