Karma R&D- 95 Strawberry x Mandarina & Karmarado OG x Sour D

In the midst of my move to the new house but the heat is and power is on so I got the beans soaking about an hour ago and stuck the tray in a drawer in the bathroom while we finish out move.

I just couldn't wait any longer.
So on deck for this grow is two tester packs of 5 feminized beans each.
95 Strawberry x Mandarina
Karmarado OG x Sour D

These will be run in sunshine 4 supplemented with dolopril and feeding will be with general hydro flora, micro and bloom by modified lucas formula. Additives will be koolbloom and Epsom salts as needed. I'll use other additives if required and will mention when and if used.
these will start under T8 floros at 4100K and 32watts per bulb x 4
flowering will probably be under a 1000 or more but will get to that later.

So, no pics yet but should have some seedlings going within a few days.
Thankyou KarmaG for blessing me with two of your testers to try out, much appreciated, I'm totally stoked for this grow.

I've also got 4 6 or 7 week old seedlings going of Karma's Old Grandpa Scratch so will include updates on those as well.

cheers

K folks, I ended up only popping 2 of each for now. I have a lot of plants to go thru in my own breeding efforts so "optimum" space is at a premium and I have 4 slots open.

Been about a week now and there are 4 healthy little starts above the ground but not much to see yet. They will get floros for a couple weeks and then to a 400MH to veg for a bit in 3 gallon pots.

I may do most of this test journal over on another site Karma is a sponsor of as I'm involved in testing some other gear there and Karma's gear is sadly underepresented there. Hope Karma G don't mind and I'll pop in here with some updates once things get rolling along.

sorry this test thread is slow getting going but I'm committed
popped 2 beans each of the testers and have 4 nice little seedlings. One of the 95strawberry x mandarina just shot for the sky LOL it's the tallest of all the seedlings.
They are still in small 2" starter pots and will get a transplant around the weekend.
they are under 4 x 32 watt, 4 foot maxlite hi lumen 4100K T8 floros , running on a workhorse 5 ballast. This one of my favorite lights for starting seed and vegging clones/keeping bonsai mums.

anyhow, lights are on 24/7 right now as I build my rooms and get things rolling over here. Updates will be sporadic until they are actual plants.

okay , sorry no pics yet , still looking for some of my camera gear since the move.
The 4 testers are getting moved from the floros to a 4ft x 4ft x 6ft tall cabinet i just finished constructing. Powered by a 400 MH , small oscilating fan and a 110cfm exhaust. Intakes are passive. 2x4 construction wrapped tightly in black white poly. I've thrown a couple of these cabinets together while my main build is being put together with veg, clone and flower rooms. We'll get to those later in the thread.

anyhow, these seedlings are still very small so not much to report other than a couple things.
The Karmarado Og x Sour D look identical , same leaves , same height, twins.
95 strawberrry x mandarina , one is very tall with very long first leaves, the other is small and slow to get going tho they sprouted at same time above ground.
they are doing there thing and will surely benefit from the proper environment and 400 watt halide.
cheers and I'll endeavor to have pics next update.

hey folks, lil update on the Karma fem testers.

the 4 seedlings are doing well and still under floros.
I usually use these to start seedlings and veg right up to 5 weeks.
the other day, last update, i had set up the 400 in the 4x4 cabinet for the seedlings but it's running way too cool and dry , like 68F , 25% RH and my attempts to rectify aren't gonna work till my rooms out there are properly finished so the seedlings are staying inside under the floros..... which really isn't a big thing.

So right now the seedlings are just getting RO water with a top up of my well water to bring to 6.3PH.
I've transplanted them up from the little starters into 4" pots to build some roots.
Lights set to 20 on 4 off and temps being maintained at 76F day , 71F night RH 45% to 48%. Would like to see the RH numbers increased a bit for sure but thier home is temporary while i am room building.
seeing good vigor in the karmarado og x sour d and the two seedlings look near identical. There is visible fine trichomes on the emergent leaves.
seeing good vigour in one of the 95 strawberry x mandarina and the other seems a bit behind.
all are still pushing thier first true leaves and working on the second.
all appear normal and no mutation.

I do apologize i haven't put an album together yet but i haven't even taken any pics yet LOL I'll have pics soon enuff

oh.... and those 3 old grandpa scratch are starting to smell in veg, like a musky, skunky, slight citrus odour. Ya know they gonna be good

more next time.
