LSD grow and smoke report
First of all, I want to personally thank BOG. If it weren't for your numerous posts on OG throughout the years I would never have been able to get the results that I have had. This was my first ever grow and the results have been better than I could have hoped for. I made many mistakes and still managed to have an amazing end result.
Here's the story. C-13 Cabinet, with a 400 HPS for veg and flower. I used Alaska fish 5-1-1 during veg, and Fox Farm Big Bloom exclusively during flower. I followed BOG's directions and for the soil mix with the excpetion of using Meijer's organic soil, as it was early march when I put the seeds into the soil, and Meijer's was the only place that had any soil for sale at the time. Good to know for future reference. I mixed 10-15% perlite with 1 cup of bone meal and 1 cup of blood meal per cubic foot of soil. I planted 6 LSD seeds, 5 sprouted, 1 was lost early on due to underwatering, so I was left with four fantastic plants which I FIM'ed after about 4 weeks. They began to show sex quite early (the 5th week of veg) and unfortunately only 1 turned out to be female. I took 5 clones from her and pur her into flowering. The flowering process was uneventful. She took ferts quite easily, and I stated to flush with water after about six weeks of flowering. The plant turned an amazing shade of dark purple during the last 10 days of flower. Amazing!!! I had some helpful advice during the grow from a friend who is a commercial grower. He just encouraged me to keep doing whatever I was doing, as my plant looked very healthy. I purchased one of those 60-100x mini microscopes from radio shack to help with looking at the tricomes, but I had still had a difficult time judging when to harvest. Then Texas Kid enlightened me. He said to cut off a little surgar leaf and put it on a desk, then it would be easy to get a good look at the heads. He was right on, thanks to Texas Kid. I actully think it might have gone a few days too long, as there were many cloudy one, but it came out very well.I harvested after eight weeks and two days. I hung up to dry for a week and then cut it up and weighed it out. 2.5 oz. Not bad for a first time grow with one plant in a 3.5 gallon pot. The buds are just covered in tricomes, and the smell is difficult to describe, kind of unpleasant, but not off-putting. This is definately the most I'ver ever had in my possession. At first I was little worried that I had done something wrong, as the buds were not very tightly packed or 'rock hard' as some like to say. However, my grower friend told me that this is usually dependant on the strain, and not necessarily a sign that I had made a mistake. Last night he came over and we tried some for the first time. I was worried it might taste harsh, as it's only been 10 days or so of curing, but it was quite nice and smoooth. At first I thought the potency was average but nothing special. 15 minutes later, I had to go lay down on the couch. Man, it just hit me like a ton of bricks. My grower friend said I had the best stuff around. He was really impressed. After he left I took an 'accidental' nap on the couch for 20 minutes or so. Very refreshing.... I now have the 5 clones in the cabinet and they are just beginning their second week of flowering.I'm doing a few things differently this time. I bought a new (much nicer) reflector with glass. I'm now able to get the light much closer to the plants and have a lot less heat issues. I'm also trying to SCROG this time, as I have a cabinet (C-13) and need to be more efficient. Also, I'm going to use Earth Juice bloom and the last 3-4 weeks of flowering, as that's what BOG recommended in one of his recent posts. So thanks everyone here who has put forth the effort to spread the knowledge around. I really appreciated it. Next up will be Bogglegum... UC |

I'm sure getting that new hood will alllow you to get the light closer, therefore increasing intensity and hardening up those buds

I remember you. Your the guy with the shaky hands. Nice to hear you were satisfied with your results. Having the best shit in town is like walking into a party with some Crystal Champagne, Everybody wants a taste.
And boy I think the most sleep I get is from accidental naps. I dont know how many times i've woken up to TV watching me and a pipe on my belly. Blatant |

Blatant: Yeah I was the guy who had probs with the scope. But it's not like I'm really shaky. Looking through that thing at 60x magnification -- everything shakes..
homegrownsweets: Man I hope it dosent get too much better. That stuff knocks me out now. If it gets better it'll have to smoke it in extremely small doses. I don't know how anyone could smoke a whole joint of that stuff. But hey, I like those kind of problems..... UC |

Don't worry man, with some hard work, perseverance and the occasional accidental nap, you'll work your way up to a whole joint. Eventually....

Thanks for your positive report despite the m/f ratio. You seem to be a person who wants to see the best. The glass must be half full for you instead of half empty. You are sounding satisfied to have the best shit in town.
That makes me very happy too!BOG Bogglegum won't disappoint you either...
