Monsanto to make its way into Australia MMJ market
so saw this and figured u guys would find this interesting. its pretty sad to me, but its happening in the US also. my biggest fear of legalization has been the takeover and destruction of this beautiful plant from monsanto. thought we had at least a few more years of gmo free cannabis, but that is not the case.

Where does it mention Monsanto in that article?
They list GW and Hortipharm as the source for these "GMO" seeds. We all know that is completely unfounded, mainly due to the guy who gave GW their genetics directly claiming otherwise . These are the same genetics that are in most of the modern cultivars we smoke everyday and have been bred using traditional techniques by well known cannabis breeders. I agree with the post above, this fear of Monsanto and GMO is modern day reefer madness. This all comes from a very distinct lack of understanding of the science of selective breeding vs transgenics. The title of this thread is extremely misleading as the source provided shows nothing of Monsanto entering the Australian medical marijuana market. |
