The Jack Pine Picture Show

I ended up with five girls from a pack of Jack Pine. Two very much alike. The other three each differing. At this point #1 and #8 seem to be the standouts. They are two of the three that differ. The third, #6, is also a candidate. But much rangier. She, even more so than the others, should have been finished in a larger container. She started showing signs of fade at day twenty-six. She’s very vigorous and smelt faintly of pine early on. I took a cutting. I think she’s struggling a bit though. I hope I can get her to hold on.

These girls are being subjected to a stressful environment. It’s very possible that things could go south quickly (no reflection on the genetics, rather the caretaker). As long as they don’t though, I’ll update in a couple weeks. And as things stand now, they are holding up rather well, all things considered. I’m actually quite excited about the prospects.

(some of the pics are kind of crappy - sorry - they were for my records and wasn't sure I'd share them.)

Up first, #6 (day 27):

#1 & #8 Dusted

Just dusted these two at day thirty-four. Hopefully pollen was still viable.

#6 Update

First shots of #6 were at day twenty-seven.

I think I may be turning her around at day thirty-four. I sure hope. (Matters not, I suppose, since I've got a cutting...and can work on dialing-in later, if worthy) Because she smells really nice. These are lower sites:

I've got my fingers crossed..

Thanks fab! She’s taller than I’d like. If she goes again I’ll have to top and train more, or flower sooner. She just wants to grow grow grow. The cutting was busting roots by the fourth day. Thanks for stopping by.

Hey Jahaze. All three of these are stinkers. Honestly I didn’t realize to what extent until I removed #1 & #8 from the room to dust. Afterwards I left them in the finished part of the basement for about three hours before returning them to the room. Yeah, the basement was stinking — the carbon filter is doing its job because I wasn’t noticing the stink level in the room.

I kind of think #1 will be even more pine leaning. Not sure how to explain #8... it’s not as sharp as the other two but it also doesn’t (as of now) have any sweet and or fruity notes to it. If smells deeper with more funk... maybe the skunky side of Pine Skunk? (Could I be so lucky ) I also think #8 will be the big yielder, but that remains to be seen...

Thanks folks for the positive vibes!

May as well share some shots of #1 & #8 from day 35 since #6 was updated at day 34:
