Steve Brown & The Bailers
(*A local band, mostly from the Fairbanks area, with the exception of one of the keyboard players/pianists, who has laid tracks down on music sent back and forth, though he is now, last I heard, living in Oregon.. Dave.. A Deadhead I knew here 38 years ago.. A character among characters back in the day. The band's otherwise made up, in part, by local school teachers, and has been 'categorized' as rock-a-billy, though their talents and music flow much more broadly than that). A favorite tune of mine by them is copied below, the album gifted to me by a former friend... As lines in the sand become more pronounced or better defined, with more firm expectations for behaviors and words in this life, there's an increasing number of 'former friends'). ------------------------------------ 'Gravel Road' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AezMGit1rkA Well, this old gravel road used to greet me with a smile I’ve traveled it for years Used to walk its many miles But, oh, things change, when you’re not looking
Like I’m not headed home Just a drifter gone astray ‘Cause, oh things change, when you’re not looking
So when you arrive, (I) hope it’s perfectly clear That you’re not lost You just had to take off, while I wasn’t looking
They belong to you by now And, oh, things change, when you’re not looking
I could call you up at night If just to hear your voice Tellin' me I’ll be all right But, oh things change when you’re not looking
I don’t need a lot to read Saying: Oh, things change, when you’re not looking |
