Hemp for Victory - Entire Film - US Government asks farmers to grow it

Produced by the US Government in 1942...Interesting to learn that Dupont Chemical funded the anti- hemp / marijuana effort. This is because they had patents on new synthetic fibers and Hemp had a new machine that would put them out of business if hemp were to be used for clothes.

Dupont also sold - and still does many of the chemicals to wood pulp producers... so we continue to cut down forests... when Hemp could save millions of trees, be used as an alternative bio fuel and the US could easily grow enough hemp to eliminate the need for oil.

Yes i have seen this vid...hell the sails ropes and clothes of the ship mates sailing to the new world were all made of hemp.. many farmers were encouraged to grow this strong fiber

hemp has huge potential in the construction business, makes awesome fiberboard & plywood products & lots more that would reduce the destruction of forest lands. living in the north woods I get to see many logging trucks running the roads here, it borders on being sad.

My dad grew hemp during WWII. They planted it along the fence row; 10 feet out so that it did not interfere with the corn crop.

10 feet wide, 15 feet tall; as far as the eye could see..(taller than the corn which fed a lot people, made a lot of rope).

Many years ago Jack Herer told me about how cannabis had been demonized by the US government for the benefit of big corporations/businesses...

This wonderful plant, with so many uses, that has been so important to many civilizations thru thousands of years of history was banned because it threatened the profits of the lumber(paper), cotton, synthetic textiles, oil and pharmaceutical industries....and they did it specifically by concentrating their false propaganda on the drug cultivar varieties of cannabis.

Yes, you are right, they didn't want anyone smoking anything but tobacco......another huge industry that stood to loose profits if people decided to smoke cannabis, instead of tobacco.
