What are the politicians afraid of…?
I would like to hear why research shouldn’t be done.

Governments run drugs. Always have and always will. What more needs to be said? The name of their game is oppression
Theres money to be lost on their part. Theres wellness to be had on our part. Cant have that! The truth moved underground long ago. Then consider all the vested interests on top of that that profits from prohibition. Then consider international treaties...etcetera Schedule 1 substance yo. No medical benefit. Fuck them...

research produces results expressed in statistics yet medicine produces effects unique to each individual. One meds i had to take had such an adverse side effects on me i had to stop taking it. on most other people it works fine. I'm a statistically small percentage in the meds research tests but they still went ahead and legalised the drug. Its going to be the same with any research they do on MJ. There are going to be people who dont benefit, there are going to be people who do benefit and there are going to be people who took the placebo who have good and no effects.
what i'm saying is if a politician really doesn't want to legalise a drug he/she can point to people who had bad effects and on that basis refuse to risk public health by legalising. even though there are far worse things on the market ie alcohol, tobacco and in some places even the air we breath. i'm not against research as long as the process goes through a proper scientific process with the assessment and recommendations for legalisation being handled by an objective and qualified panel. not just a bunch of politicians with ideological axes to grind. i think its important for Cannabis advocates to get the right process for research and legalisation. I've seen big issues in our country shot down by some clever manipulation of process by those opposing progress. two examples are australias vote on becoming a republic(failed) and our current debate on legalising same sex marriage.

politicians don't want legalization because then the taxpayer can easily make an income, no matter how large or small, that circumvents the tax man.
taxes give governments money, money is power, only politicians and the elite can have power.... so the avenues that would allow the taxpayer to glean money outside the taxation system are heavily regulated or crimminalized. because money is power , that's why . |

I'm not sure what the forum rules are concerning printing correspondence I received from my congressman. I asked him to consider allowing medical use of cannabis and the response I got back is challenging my ability to think logically. Can I post a copy of this letter and get some insight on how to respond.

just write back and say his attitude has convinced you to go work for a congressman that supports legalisation. dont forget to name the other candidate so he knows you are serious. dont get mad, get revenge.

if a holistic treatment for were to work and be 'for real' , think of all the lawyers put outta wok (poor bastards/bitches) cause medical malpractice would diminish, along with the war on drugs.. police might have to go after real criminals, there would be fewer cases clogging up the court system (we are easy prey), we'd need fewer prisons, <more peps outta work (fukem) and if that holistic remedy really worked, big pharma would take a big hit along with back to your leaders, less taxes collected on all that shit.. its all about $$$ here.. euros there.

So the prosecution would rather have a. Jury full of accountants rather than scientist? I'll take the latter. Why not do the science and let the cards fall where they may. Sound right Nora the Explorer?

They don't do anything because the vast majority of voters do not use or associate with cannabis. As this is a grow site, for most here cannabis is a daily part of life. For the general public that is not the case. If it was used as widely as alcohol it would have been legalized years ago. Alcohol and caffeine use is what drives this country, cannabis is just an afterthought unfornunately.
You also have the police directly receiving money and assets without having to do any work so they fight to keep it illegal. |
