Trichography
Clean the resin off your lens & post your high resolution trichographs.
I measured 40 pixels across on the head of the closest of these & the front of my camera smells like lemon candy. To start off with I took a picture of the trim to be on one of my plants thats further along & pretty close to harvest, looks like maybe I should have already hung it. ![]() Here is another photo of the same region, a lot of amber & a lot of headless stipes. ![]() Two photos of the same leaf, but further in towards the flower ![]() ![]() Here is the flower ![]() So looking at these pics I'm getting the idea that trichomes become decapitated when some of the somewhat solid & gelatinous THCA inside become decarbed by the sun (possibly via the photoelectric effect) and since the outer leafs get more exposure they look ready to harvest earlier. |

These are pictures of other plants I have which are much less further along in flowering, got 2 weeks to go at least, for comparing to the older plant in the post above.
These pictures are all along the "resin rails", I had to shot these pics blind so sticking the lens up to the rails and clicking a few times is my easiest way to get sharp trichs in the center of the frame where I have good focus & not to much lens distortion, chromatic aberration, etc. A lot less amber, cloudy & headless ones in these trichographs. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() My dank leaf stems, those trichs are gonna be hash some day soon. ![]() I just noticed those black spots in the last pic, those better not be fucking mites Last edited by PDX Dopesmoker; 09-29-2016 at 01:11 AM.. Here is two different views of that same little leaf edge from slightly different angles & foci.
![]() ![]() It seems the biggest I can get the trich heads is about 40 pixels, gonna need to grow bigger trichcomes or get a better camera. |

Check out that top one thats well lit & in focus, looks like the lighting right & the head was clear enough to get the disk cells in the photo. You can also see the disks' outline in the two heads just below that one.
