I just checked my Malawi trics today and it looks like they can be harvested, but I'll give them a few more days. The trics are all cloudy with very few amber.
Can't wait to see your pics. They are usually giant plants!
Have a great one!

Subbed.

Embarrassed to even post pics of my Malawi or Zameldica. I went 12/12 from seed outside, but it looks like I severely fucked up that batch of soil somehow. All plants are spindly as hell and 18-24" tall and just don't look healthy despite vigorous seedlings.

Sometimes changing too many things at once is a formula for disaster......

At best I'll have some bud to sample and I still have half of the seeds of each strain left for next year, but at worst, they are still a long way from being done and it's still hot as hell and they don't look healthy at all.

i am doing the 12/12 from seed as well. what i did is put them in happy frog potting mix from the start in cups. once they showed signs of needing some help(3rd true set of leaves) i put them in 5 gallon bags of 2 cf of the happy frog and 1.5 cf of ffof and mixed them together. they seem to be loving it so far. i'll grab some pix's to put up but they haven't shown any bud yet. i think they are 3 weeks old so they should jump before long. i have the purple malawi fem (breeders pack) but only popped 2 of them and one of the fruity one's.

the malawi your posting in the other thread is done with a nice touch. i bet she will reward you good. my plants will be smaller than usual this time from 12/12 but i have something on my mind with the purple malawi's. you can more than likely guess after seeing my post in the other thread as i think they will x nicely but time will tell

Hi blue_tick,

You can expect plenty of vigor from the Panama hybrids. They can be flowered with a straight 12/12 photoperiod and still get a decent yield, although a bit of veg it's always recommended to achieve biggest harvests.

All the strains you are starting have similar flowering times, with maybe a deviation of 1-2 weeks.

Are you planning to grow them in a tropical climate with permanent (or close) 12/12 photoperiod or do you plan to force the 12/12 photoperiod ? How are the conditions in your climate ?

Thanks for supporting our work and for starting your grow diary.

i have them outdoors here in sub-tropic conditions. i decided to do one purple malawi to see what would come of them first. we have reached the short day light hrs now. i need to get more malawi seeds as i have gone thru the breeders pack (fem) and did not have the means to make more. i will be going to your site soon as i post this to see what you have available for next season. here is the one i have as a test
