Indigo's Superfruit2 Grow/Smoke Report
This is the report Idigo sent me from her grow on the SF2...
She had to chop about 10 days early due to a prior commitment.. The SF2 does put on a lot of her resin over this time frame But I have also had to take them a little early with very good results.. Thank you Indigo for sending me this report.. "I only planted three seeds, as I have a cab with a 10 plant capacity in veg, and I try in as much as possible to get some variety in there with each grow, which translates for me into 3 strains, 3 seeds of each +1. All of the Superfruit X BB beanies kicked tails within 24 hours, all 3 seedlings survived, and all three turned out female . This particular grow had been timed to be pulled the day before I left for **** All of them were chopped at 60 days, and to my surprise, all the plants were done except for the Superfruit x BB. From the looks of them, they could have gone another 10 days! Unfortunately letting them finish was not an option, so keep in mind that I pulled them a bit early. The three females I had were identical. No variation whatsoever, they could easily have been mistaken as clones from a single mother, and not plants grown from seed. They gave off very mild odor both during veg and flower, were not stinky at all. The smell while the plants were alive was more a musky earthy type of smell , which I attribute to the Blueberry, with just a hint of fruity undertone. They had extremely long, abundant brick red pistils, and now after a 3 month cure still have a somewhat "furry" appearance. Because they still had a bit left to finish, the buds required quite a long cure, two months, to become smooth and (to my standards), smokeable. Now that the buds are nicely cured, its becoming one of my preferred daytime smokes. The early harvest combined with what is obviously a sativa-tendent pheno of this cross made for a very giggly, fun, bubblegum type of high.....you know, that kinda weed that reduces you into a giggling idiot with a perennial smile that you can't undo no matter how hard you try LOL! Funtime, party, amusement park type weed, great for socializing or simply taking an edge off day to day anxiety....I'd reccomend this for those who suffer from anxiety but do enjoy a sat dom smoke. Pulled a bit early it retains the sat-head high without any of the edge, while allowing you to sleep like a baby whenever you're ready to turn in. I think if I'd have let it finsih the effects would have been notably more to the indica side, and quite different. Major lung expansion, this one even after the three month cure will leave me coughing after every hit. Now after the cure the buds smell and taste more fruity and less musky....like a bowl of ripe tropical fruit with hashy undertones, and a touch of lemon tang to it. I wouldn't define it as full out and out fruity, its a bit more complex as far as taste and smell goes. A trained nose/palate can pick up a hint of floral bouqet in there too. Yeild, excellent! I'd rate the yeild for an experienced grower as 8 on a 1 - 10 scale. Abundant golf-ball shaped nugs....I both trained (in veg) and supercropped (in early flower) and she really packed on the nugs. Buds had a bit of leaf on them, quite indica looking in aspect. Canopy had to be radically trimmed to free up budsites to the light 'cause the bitch is leafy as hell (secondary branches growing real tight up against the main stalk), but I found that with my minimum nute/total organics style of growing that the excess leafiness is not an issue as the plant sheds alot of leaves in mid to late flower, and trimming was easy at the end. I'd define all three plants as medium in size, absolutely manageable even in a small cab. I was expecting a short flowering (50-55 day), squat indica, found myself with indica-looking plants on a slightly larger scale, but with a sat dominance (estimated at 65/35 sat/indi) in the effects." I will also add that the high would have probably been a little heavier with the later finish and not quite as cerebral as the ealier picked effects that Idigo describes...But it does have heady qualities just not as much as an early harvest will provide...This is true with most varieties that are partially sativa... Thanks again Indigo for OKing me to post up your report........... Take care all........................... ................CC |
