Moving - How should I bring my buds?
I am moving in a few weeks a fairly large distance away (about 800 miles). I have a large stash and am trying to work out a means of bringing it along.
I can either pack 'em in the car or mail them. Regardless, the packages will be vacuum sealed multiple times with a solvent wash in between and some cedar for packing. Some argue that there is no way to fool a dog. I disagree, but would prefer to take every precaution even if I am wrong. A lot of talk has been done about mailing very small amounts but not anything larger. I don't know the practices of shipping companies with medium size packages. I don't think I should worry about sending a moderate size package (1 - 2 ft) anymore than sending a large envelope or small mailing box like many use for small amounts. The thing that worries me most is the box being opened by accident (damage, etc.). I know USPS can't touch it unless they have a warrant. Anyways, any tips on packing it to avoid damage? Also, does anyone know anything about the practices of shipping companies with boxes? What would this thing look like going through scanners? Driving isn't the worst... but I am paranoid. I am a law abiding citizen with no record, not even a traffic violation. I am clean and do not appear associated with illegal activity. What I'm worried about are dogs. Unfortunately, the U.S. supreme court ruled awhile back that dogs may search without needing a warrant or even probable cause. Honestly, that scares me. If a cop can keep me around long enough and is bored and/or a dick he might pull that. Also, I don't encounter LEOs too often but they make me nervous even when I have nothing on me. Just natural I guess. I appologize for the lengthy post. I appreciate any help in posts or pms. I'd hate to get rid of my hard earned green. Take it easy. gl.pirate

whatever you decide, do not ship it through UPS! These people are notorius for ratting people out, they even offer drivers a reward for finding illicit drugs . . .
Fed Ex has the best rep in the business . . . if you're driving state to state, I'd take it along |

USPS ... they do so much volume they could care less as long as it doesnt smell. They also arent going to prosecute the receiver of a contraband package if caught.

800 miles isnt to bad. Just pack it up, but it in the truck in a box with kitchen shit and drive. Just wear normal clothes, blend in with traffic and dont drive crazy and dont smoke in the truck and you'll be fine. as long as you dont smoke in the car there is no smell so if you get pulled over there is no reason they will want to search you. One thing i always do in a car with dope is dress well and put a bible and a copy of a novel on the back drivers seat. That way if you get pulled over , the cop when he walks to the car will first look in back seat and see a bible and anothe rbook, then walk to your window and look at you. If you are clean cut officer thinks youre just a good god fearing man trying to move to a new home. AM radio doesnt hurt either. You'll be fine , drive it. Dont risk getting busted by UPS or whatever

Decided to ship. I'd rather just lose buds than my FREEDOM. If it works out, I'd like to make a tutorial since there are only a few threads where the topic is casually discussed. There are quite a few people around who are interested in sending samples and it would be good to maintain their safety.

I know someone who was moving and had a bunch of weed and all his grow equipment packed in the U Haul van I believe. Anyways I dont have all the details but he was driving thru Kansas I believe and came upon a sign that said vehicle drug search ahead so he immediately took the next off ramp only to find out there was a blockade on the off ramp with a drug dog sniffing every car. It was a trick if he had stayed on the main highway he would have been fine. He spent 30 days in a jerk water jail and a years probation plus legal fees and fines. Also cause he had his weed, lights and scale all together he was charged with, possesion for sale and manufacturing.
So if you every come up on somthing like that and cant see it don't turn off the road unless you can hang a u-turn. 70s

Great story 70s. They've been doing this near me lately. Except they pick roads where you have no where to go and they stop every car. Assholes. I have complete respect for LEOs, but not when they are wasting my money to catch peaceful people that just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Hopefully USPS will end up being the right choice. I've got my fingers crossed but I don't believe in luck... Take it easy. gl.pirate

70's PH -Ive herd simmilar stories, and i think how it goes is - they cant actully set up "drug" check points but they can put up signs and use the fact that a person atempted to avoid the Hoax check point as porbbile cause to be dicks.

Um, they can and do setup checkpoints. I know a few one lane highways with no turn offs for miles. They stop everyone that goes through for 12 hours or so. These are usually main roads leading towards our neighbor to the north.
Due to a supreme court ruling (Illinois v. Caballes), using dogs does not require probable cause as long as an individual is not detained excessively. The minute the dogs sniff something they now have probably cause. No disrespect, MM. I think it's important for people to realize that it can and does happen. Take it easy. And stay safe. gl.pirate
