ID for pepper plant
I live in the LA area and have a neighbor from Mexicali. Neat guy who does a style of gardening that is different than I am used to.
He has a couple of plants that are over ten years old and produce peppers about twice the size of a grain of rice. I looked through the seedsman collection and Loco was the closest thing I could find to it. The only thing I am sure of is that they are not grown for the looks, they are used in food. Have pictures that I will post when I find the misplaced camera cable. Think old scrawny looking plant that looks like hell with tiny peppers so small that one would not notice them at all if not for their red color.

It may be a Pequin if tapered. Or a Tepin if more round or oval. "Bird pepper" is a common name for a lot of the smaller wild type varieties, birds love them (they're immune to the heat).

Thank you much, it looked more like the Pequin but the peppers are a bit smaller than those shown.

Made a pot of chili, crushed a few of these in. Wonderful.

Very nice ! Those look neat as can be and real similar to the larger of the varieties that my neighbor has.
As someone who is kinda of just discovering them, I am floored at shear number and variety that are available even in the regular grocery stores. Those that target Spanish speaking people have even more of them. So far, I have pretty much stuck with just the larger ones . I have to say that so far all that I have tried has been really good. These things now make up about a third of my diet any more. Just can not get enough of them and I look forward to trying more. I am not really going for firey hot myself -- but I very much like the neat taste and flavor of most that I have tried so far.
