'Tis true. I was hoping to give them the benefit of the doubt, grow their gear and have it comparable to ours, but did not happen.

I'm sure others that do not have experience growing autos will think they are ok.

Just not for me. Still, the unbiased taste test in early November.

Debating whether or not to chop the one with nanner sites or wait. There's nothing to pollinate but still, having that many....will be a pesky task picking them off until harvest end of the month. It looks like another 2-3 weeks before finally finishing the Tangi. Will probably harvest, give to someone in need.

Damn, I'm a little bummed right now. Ordered some fast buds GG4 , green crack, cookies, and heavyweight fruit punch. I normally grow nirvana fems and hoped to shorten my grow time by one or two months. I'll wait for your smoke tests. Do you think indoor with two 400 watt (MH and HPS) might make them better?

You cannot improve a product with light alone. It starts with quality genetics....everything else is secondary.

Wish you luck.

Finished both. No need to show pics....ours and the 3 FB I grew.

FB are ok, not great. Pics of Tangi'matic/Original Glue are on the other thread "al fresco".

Interesting grow.....will say there's numerous autoflower strains/selections out there, yet FB won't be a go-to in the future.

Ok, results are in.

SMOKE TEST

Did comparative taste/smoke test with ours (afterthought autos grown side by side with Fast Buds) vs. Tangi'matic and Original Glue.

We used Tokarev T3 as it is close in genetics to Original Glue, plus I had a small bud of Gorilla Bubble that exhibited the Original Glue characteristics.

Selected Panthera and Permafrost to compare (as close as genetically possible) to Tangi'matic.
Had five participants. Two female, 3 males, age 27-62.

TANGIMATIC/PERMAFROST/PANTHERA
Tangi'matic (Fast Buds) smoked in the morning with coffee and evening (watching World Series...go CUBS!).
Had a pleasant citrus taste. Immediate uplifting sensation, but lasted only 30 minutes or so with participants trying. All said it smelled good before lighting, yet did not last long. Rated: 6.0-6.5
Permafrost smoked in the morning and evening allowing participants time to be sober between testing, as were all unidentified buds for participants to feel the effect. High was strong lasting 1.5+ hrs. More a body stone than a high. Rated: 7-8.5

Panthera, again tried morning and night mildly psychoactive prone to stimulate creativity and focus without the loss of functionality. 3 said very social strain. Sativa high, cinnamon taste/fruity, came on strong lasting several hours, both daytime and evening smoke. Rated 8.5

Original Glue Auto (Fast Buds). Did not resemble a typical "Glue". Pleasant high, not very strong, lasted a few hours. Had petrol smell. 7- 7.5.

Gorilla Bubble. All liked the high, tasted of fruit, fuel, long lasting. 8.5-9.

Tokarev T3. Participants could "taste" the Chem D in it and fruity sour taste. Strong, 4 said great pain relief, with medium couch lock. Scored: 8.5.

When asked if participants would grow or smoke Tangi'matic, "No" was the answer. The remaining specimens, all would say they would smoke again or grow them: Original Glue
auto, Gorilla Bubble (photo), Tokarev T3, Permafrost and Panthera.

Note: Those having tried Original Glue were disappointed in the FB GG auto did not look like a typical "Glue". Although the taste sensation was there, some said it reminded them more of a Chem Dawg strain, a much weaker effect strain than photo Original Glue. Three participants felt it's a misrepresentation of calling strain "Original Glue Auto" when it doesn't taste or look similar to Original Glue. However, that aside, the effect was ok and they said they would smoke it again.

Addendum: While smokers were not privy to which stain was which, in notes, they preferred Permafrost, Panthera, GB and Tokarev over FB GG and the Tangi. Again, only 5 sampling. Not quite comparable, but taste, effect lasted longer with the former (P, P, GB, T) vs. FB. Still smokable. Asked would they grow the GG and Tangi? Lackluster response. None on Tangi, 2 out of 5 for GG.

Overall an ok test. Growth and yield were not consistent with description on websites selling Fast Bud gear unfortunately. Although we did not try it, it was suitable for smokers, but most said they were not as potent as other blind taste & smoke test samples.

Would we grow the same selections again? Short and long answer, "No". However, choices of growers and smokers are very individualistic. FB not the greatest, nor the worst of the 2 samples given to us....somewhere in-between. Both samples of Original Glue and Tangi'matic were divided up and given to local Vets MMJ Grow group.

Thanks aridbud I;m a little more excited now because where I live I will not see any GG#4 in seed or clone form any time in the near future. Unless Nevada and California come through on November 8. Peace and respect.

They rated it "OK", not great....but sure, grow it. Nothing resembling to GG...appearance, taste, effect. My humble opinion and those of others.

Good luck.

To be honest, I dont think you can judge a strain on just one or two seeds, you definitely cannot do that with photoperiods, why would autos be any different? everyone would love to get a banger from one just seed, it does happen but not always.

I do think that Fastbuds could stabilize the strains further, I have had some great plants but also ones that I have culled.

True, but the representation growing those two seeds was enough.

Glad you like their gear....I grew them out, as asked, and found lack of stabilization a factor.
