Snow Moon and Lilly at Lat 51 and then some other stuff
Hola, my Ace growing bredren and sistren, bred/sis/sis/bred/not made mind updren (sic). All are welcome - even those whose eyebrows join up in the middle.
This thread is just to document my attempts to grow Snow Moon from Ace and Lilly from Delicatessen at Lat 51, they say they can be grown at 47 so i like a challenge! The SM should be fine and has just started to flower (as has the other indica in the back) but the Lilly is just having a think for a day or 2 and the leaves are the most sat of any i have grown so it need to get a shufty on methinks. They've been out for 6 weeks and so far the weather has been perfect, which as anybody who vaguely knows the UK knows, means that is it for the year as far as a summer goes! The soil I'm using is my recycled soil from 2 years ago, basically coir/wormcast/wool compost/charcoal. I then compost it down with roots in (and add any rootball from other grows) for a year or so and it's ready to go spring time after a few goodies are added. The ferts are comfrey PSG and neemcake which is essential for outside grows as it keeps the nasties (borg etc) away. I don't grow trees but usually get a satisfactory 80-100g or so a plant of serviceable bud which I bubble most of. I will now try to post some pics but I gave up on this site because it stopped letting me post pics even though I made them tiny so if it goes wrong then if any mods want to sort them out then feel free! Snow Moon, tied and growing through handle of 30l pot: Lilly, still short and I'm not sure whether to top, tie or leave au natural: All 3: Thanks for looking, any and all input welcome. I won't update more than every week or so and the idea is to document my first Ace indoor grow later in the year as well. I'm off to cook my roast lamb now! ZC |

pic update
Ok, quick pic update, and apologies but the pics aren't great (and bloomin' tiny!) as i haven't got the will to muck around with them as i have the ear infection from hell and I'm thoroughly pissed off!
All seems ok with all plants, I've not really fed/watered them at all but i have sprayed them with Plant Magic boost and 'delta 9' this week I also added a biotab to the indicas as they will prob need the extra ferts - the other plant is i think green crack from humboldt - it's def GC but I'm just not sure whose! The indicas have def been flowering for 2 weeksish so should be done the start of Oct but the Lilly has prob only just started so I've a feeling she will be undercooked with the no doubt crappy autumn ahead! Snow moon Lilly t'other 1 Thanks for looking and it might start to get interesting soon........ ZC |

Looking good. Lilly is a staple in my rotations. She is unique. I'll be watching with much interest!

Hi mate, thanks for looking. If you were a betting man (I am!) what would you say she'll get up to height wise? I ummed and arred about height control and decided to tie her through the handle as sats can explode in flowering and although she's staring to take hold now I'm guessing she won't get over 2m?
I've super cropped the snow moon and topped the GC but the main stem is now a fair bit shorter than the lower stems (on Lilly) so i don't think I'll need to do much more to her. Some of the lower leaves have lost a bit of colour but I've eased off the 'N' in the soil mix as most sats need less. She aint most sats though! |

My snow Moons are well into flower now - they decided to start flowering at the beginning of June (!) and then went back into reveg. With how advance they are now, I'm hoping for a last week of September harvest.
They are exactly as dubi says on the variety description, dark green leaves, squat and bushy. I'm hoping for a half decent yield, they look like they'll do 200g plus per plant, which would be nice. They can definitely take a decent amount of nutrient too, I used the full dose of Canna BioVega and have just started them on their flowering nutrient at pretty much manufacturer's recommended strength. Happy growing, hope the weather holds for you

Cheers - not sure if you are in the UK but the problem is what sun there is from about halfway trough Sep is weak. Mould i can handle as i check every day but intermittent weak sunshine I can't control! I've toyed with the idea of force flowering early so plants can finish over July/August and get the sun but never have.
I'm going to give a compost tea when they eventually need a hand water, or near the end of the stretch. I have plenty of feeds if need be but I like comfrey and might make that into a liquid feed for late flowering if need be. |

Not in the UK any more, but have grown outside whilst I was there; I'd be surprised if you have any sort of frost or anything to affect a harvest.
dubi said he specifically bred this one to be fast finishing, 8 weeks or so was his aim, so you should be ok. |

I have a couple Snow Moons going now also. They are buried in the middle of some other plants. I may move some around tomorrow and take a couple pics. I have 14 girls going under three 600 HPS lights. My SM's are on the lanky stretchy side. They look more like a Zamal Hash than a short squat Indica plant. I'm waiting to see your Lillies mature. That is one I have thought of getting for seed stock. Pulling up a chair. Good luck with your grow. Peace

Hi Zumurrud calina,
Thanks for starting an outdoor grow diary, should be interesting to see how the genetics perform in a colder climate. Hope you have a warm, not so rainy end of summer (although this is a bit difficult in UK). Please, keep us updated. Best wishes. |

How very dare you Mr Dubi sir - cold climate indeed........... Seriously, the weather has been good so far and long term it looks ok as well. I'll update with pics later in the week and include my indoor stuff now that is up and running. The plants are under attack from thrips atm but gave them a spray with pyrethrum 5ec which should do the trick, maybe with another spray and then a neem watering in a few days just to make sure. The 'lilly' is really short though and i shouldn't have tied it!
I've had a stonking big win on the horses as well so i might be putting in another order for cracking good seeds that i don't need! |
