Hey i just got done with somesomango, and i dont think i had one that dide'nt display male parts during one time or another in flowering. The only stress they encounered was the occasional underwatering in veg.

Ive seen comments on his strains herming, and seen pix of other strains becides then the strain i had experience with showing herm traits as well.


My question is do somas strais stress easy, do they herm easy?
Whats everyone opinoin on this subject that has experince with soma seeds.


The somango was the most resinous, delicious herb but i cant be havin those nanners in the flower room.

I n I nah heretic,,, and don't often sow/grow Soma strains. (have grown one or two, and some Soma crosses) Have seen Soma lines grown and cloned many times, many methods, from pillar to post. The old lines are tight on the genetics IMO. Healthy n Strong, they always stand out from the crowd. They take plenty of abuse across most mediums/methods; nft, scrog, sog, bonsai, organic/soil,,, light-screw ups, bad-fed, pests and mold. Some lines may be trickier than others to root (hmmm,, 'Free Tibet'),,, but this emphasizes the fact that they aren't all the same plant (perhaps they need different soils, temps, and so on...) Many strains are small, but the quality usually makes up for any low yield. As for herms,,, never seen any abnormal flowers/branches on any Soma strains,,, and we've touched a few,, in different rooms by different growers. the odd seed here and there in the odd bud. that's all

the above comments do not include the g13xhaze lines... the xNYC was very poor on genetics IMO,,, we threw these sickly-weak seedlings out the frame. nah thanks

...I grew a bunch of White Light seeds and found an exceptional female, but it always threw out a nanner or 2 @ the very end (typical of some white widows and ww hybs)...I grew out a pack of Free Tibet and one female (not a keeper pheno) made weird little "balloon" structures @ the top of the cola but they never opened up and dropped pollen (as a side note; if you chew on a piece of FT bud it will BURN your mouth like a hot pepper, it's weird...stings your tongue big time)...As far as Soma strains in which the keeper female showed no signs of herm; Buddha's Sister, Afghan Delight (none of the females hermed @ all), Kilimanjaro, Somango...

...germ rates on gypsy's ancient seed stock is a whole other problem (had a pack of pre-cup Amnesia where none germed, had a pack of Citralah where none germed, and only 3/10 Free Tibet popped...Afghan Delight on the other hand all germed like a charm...keep in mind this was years ago in the days of seedsdirect, also keep in mind that Soma makes it all right in the end )

I also purchaced the formentioned somango back in the days of seeds direct.

The perticular generagtion of plants that somango was in was in my learning stage, and to say the least the plants limits of tollerence were tested.

I was sad to see the random male parts on my somango, and was hoping it was induced by my actions and not genetic.

Ive seen Nycd pix from soma with nannas on the buds too, i pointed it out to the guy whos pic it was and he tried to tell me it was light burn, it was most definatly a male part, no mistakin those lil devils.

yes i grew nycd and it had a few(very few) male sacks.....wich i dont mind ....great bud worth the sack or two

Greetings .....don't worry..........stress cause's cannabis to manufacture male bananas as a safety feature............in case the species is in question as to its survival............in most cases nothing comes from it unless it is enhanced to promote more male flowers by some sort of stress........ie. light, PH, fertilizer, or hormonal..............if you know what you are doing with this most sacred of plants...........you can make all the different experiences you have with the plant......both positive and negative....... teach you what you need to know........ to be real good at it. The somango was suprurb regarless of the male parts. I definatly stress the girls out in almost every away imiganiable.
I still have a clone as a mother and have to see how it runs next time,

I crossed a very low yeilding, very stinky, very resinous smonago with a sour bubble bx 3 male.

got a whole buch of clones from somastrains some hermie some not, but they all smoke great. never got seed in the buds @ the end of flowering. so it just doesn't matter.

if you have 20 seeds from a strain you WILL find a keeper.
