Hello all...
I cannot seem to get my pictures loaded with Dayzed Designs as usual. So until I get things figured out I thought I would chime in with a written update w/o pictures for now.

OK, so I did a repot on both of them. I went from the 1 gallons to 3 gallon Warrior Pots. These are hard plastic pots with a cone jutting up into the bottom of the container. This is to provide a large surface area open to oxygen for the roots. It also works pretty well for peeking to check the root's progression into the new media. The bottom of the container is filled about half way with a hot mix I make, about a gallon in volume. On top of this layer I laid down a bit of insect frass along with Azos and Mykos. I then fill in with Royal Gold Basement Mix. I topped with a bit of Peruvian guano pellets and about 2" of castings, with rice hulls on top of it all as a mulch. I then put them back in veg for 5 more days. Choco1, the short one, went into flower at 15", and Choco2 went in at 18". Clones were taken of the bottom prior to the flip.
I must say thus far these have been a breeze to grow. They are still very nicely fragrant even with out flowers. As an added bonus for these girls, they will be lucky enough to be in flower at the time the Top Dawg China Cat pollen is dispersed, so they will also be bearing seed too. Oh yeah, by the way, these are being flowered out under a California Lightworks 880w LED. I have also just implemented the use of a 740nm 'far red' LED to trigger the transition into flowering immediatly. This comes on and runs for 15min before the flowering lights kick on. I also flower at 11 1/2 hrs lights on.

I'll try to get this photo thing sorted out asap.

Sorry for the delays folks. I had an issue with posting pictures and then got caught up with personal issues. But I'm back and I'll snap a few pics later on this evening.

Unfortunatly one of the the girls (Choco 2) had intersex issues a few days ago and was culled. A bright yellow male flower was growing out of the dead center of most of the flowers, from top to bottom. I waited a few days to make sure, but when I saw rusty pistils in the immediate vicinity I had to make the unfortunate decision. Sorry BB I didn't get any pics of them I knee jerked at the sight of pollination.

Aside from that both of the plants looked amazingly alike. I was glad to find no intersexing with the other female upon close examination.

Thai...go figure..

Pics in a bit...

hermi , really ...... bugger , could be any reason , glad you caught it .

i had aficionado red hindu kush hermi on me last year , out of 40 odd strains they dropped nuts .

plants will def do it if they are stressed enough , and i,m not saying you have done anything wrong at all or your room has problems , could be as simple as the strain doesn't like indoors .

hopefully its a one off . plenty guys running her so keep a sharp eye out all the same .

I have a theory I've been marinating on in regards to intersex expressions under my current LEDs, high wattage mixed band specifically. I believe these high PAR LEDs can stress the shit out of the wrong plant to the point of hermaphroditism indeed. I read levels as high as a sunny day outdoors in the hot spots of my LEDs indoors(KIND & California Lightworks), but there is NO WAY these can qualitatively match the sun spectrum. Quantity of light-YES:Quality of light-NO.... I an outfitting myself with a new set up of LEDs in a few days. White light COBs. A promising set up by Pacific Light Concepts. Thats for another thread.

ok , sounds good . i wouldn't have thought the choc trip would be unstable . we would have heard about it by now . i know some plants can be sensitive to inside grows , its old school strain , thought it could be a possibility .

new set up sounds good .

They look nice indeed... pretty narrow leaves and frosty as you can expect from Dutch Flowers.

I may test Katsu's Chocolate Trip clone soon, so I will keep looking around to hear from your experience with those.

Peace.
